Quote:Ideal Shopping Direct Limited ("ISD") has today agreed to sell its business trading as Create and Craft to Hochanda Global Limited, operating as “The Craft Store” ("Hochanda"). This brings the two leading UK teleshopping channels for Craft products together.

I thought that Create & Craft was Ideal World’s biggest money spinner given it carted all of its long time legacy IW presenters to the channel and also broadcast the channel to the USA until just recently.

I guess this will enable them to put all their focus on Ideal World which apart from the late night ITV simulcast the past couple of years has seemed to be neglected somewhat with some naff products.

I'd speculate that with ITV and STV taking their cut of the sales on Ideal World, it's more of a money spinner for IW to concentrate on a smaller selection of goods compared to crafting for which Hochanda will have the home shopping tv market for crafting.

I doubt the Create and Craft brand will stay, instead becoming a Craft Channel 2 or something along those lines with pre-recorded hours.

Isn't Create and Craft's logo based on the old Ideal World logo? You could see this coming when they didn't update it alongside IW's three years ago.

That could also be a good enough reason to sell it.

Create and Craft will replace The Craft Store from Feb 25th with the channel moving up to LCN 85 on Freeview.

In related news, Aurelius Equity Opportunities has sold the home shopping channel Ideal World to the investor Hamish Morjaria. https://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2022/02/...g-channel/

Hamish Morjaria commented:

Quote:“Ideal World presents a really exciting investment opportunity. There is a talented team in place. It’s multi-channel with both an online and TV channel offering. It has a loyal customer base, established infrastructure and the potential to extend content onto social media. I look forward to bringing in new brands and offers to help this much loved UK business meet its true potential.”
