The junction between the two was networked - a narration over a CITV slide - as well I believe, or it certainly was on a VHS of Rainbows I have from 1986, so I imagine the entire half-hour was played out from Central; infact given this was still the era of ITV Schools I'd wager CEN were handling the lot from 09:25 to 12:30.

The junction was local of course - Tyne Tees had an IVC link and often a single birthday greeting. Everyone did their own thing.
The example of TTT paperwork I have from 1987 shows that both shows came via Thames that day, even though one was a YTV production. That was during school holidays so it may have been different, but I expect it varied daily depending on what programmes were shown.

I just assumed the Children's ITV slide meant it was networked - the tape in question is recorded from Central though.
Later on This Morning went up to 12:10. I've got another tape from around at a guess 1989/1990 but could be as late as 1992 - again from Central but with Philip Elsmore (or at least it sounds like him) of all people welcoming "our younger viewers." Would he have moonlighted for Central?
