It has been announced that Paramount+ will launch in Europe in 2022 in a multi-year deal with Sky. This includes the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

I'm not really across Paramount+ in terms of content which is available on the service in the US, but this must be another bit of fantastic news for Sky in terms of longevity? Alongside the Peacock news last week, this will certainly help things if (when?) the HBO deal isn't renewed.
There was always the speculation at how relevant Sky would be in the long run with the launch of so many streaming services. But having these ones exclusive to the Sky Q platform alongside the ease of having Netflix, Amazon Prime & Disney+ integrated alongside the recording device & PSB catch ups... it does make Sky Q a great product for anyone who wants 'lots' (or everything..).

Not only that! As part of the deal Sky Media's contract to oversee the ad sales for all ViacomCBS channels in the UK and ROI has been extended for "years".
Comcast is really future-roofing Sky.

It would be interesting though, if they decided to replace My5 with a UK feed of Paramount+, which could have a free tier (Channel 5 catch-up) and a premium tier (for everything else, including the original content).

Interesting that this will only be included for Sky Cinema customers and it will be an add on. For someone like me who’s never subscribed to Sky Cinema (I rarely get time nowadays to sit down to watch a 2 hour plus movie and blockbusters are rarely clocking in under that now) it might provide a reason to subscribe to Sky Cinema if the standalone price was effectively similar to taking Sky Cinema.
Some of the big name Paramount+ series (I’m thinking the Star Trek ones in particular) are currently with Netflix or Prime so that might weaken its appeal for now, though I’m sure future ones will go there.

ViacomCBS probably sees My5 as one part of their UK streaming strategy alongside Paramount+ and Pluto TV which is their AVOD service, the latter is in an emerging market in the US alongside Fox's Tubi and Amazon's IMDB TV.

Yes, it would seem so. As I say one consideration for Sky customers would be the Sky Cinema price v the standalone Paramount+ price.
Also, and maybe a bit OT, GSA! I presume it stands for Germany Switzerland Austria, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it been used. (The new EMEA, perhaps).

GSA/GAS (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) or DACH (Deutschland (Germany), Austria, and Confoederatio Helvetica (Switzerland), based on Country Vehicle Registration codes) are sometimes used as acronyms to describe that market.
