BBC Chameleon progress checker - Moz - 26-04-2022 I'm not sure whether this project is even possible to do properly, but I was wondering - with the Forums help - if we could perhaps keep a check of how the BBC are doing with the Chameleon project. I'm going to make a start with some basics which is by no means exhaustive. Please reply with what I've missed and I'll (if the moderators are on board with this) keep editing this post with updates (or try to)... Added - along with Scotland and Alba which I'm not sure where they are with. RE: BBC Chameleon progress checker - Brekkie - 26-04-2022 All ticks for both I think - the idents were certainly updated. Not sure if they have now updated the daytime barker for BBC Scotland - was a mixture of old and new last time I saw a cap. Similarly did they ever get round to updating the "This is BBC Two" overnight barker? RE: BBC Chameleon progress checker - Robert Williams - 26-04-2022 There is still plenty to be changed online - the schedule and programme pages for all BBC services, with the sole exception of BBC Three, still carry the old logos, and in many cases the old branding (which in the case of BBC One is now two eras out-of-date, with its red swirls left over from the circles era). With BBC Radio, only the social media accounts for the national stations have changed so far - local stations and the nations' stations have yet to be updated (I see Radio Orkney uses a 70s/80s logo on its social media!) Don't forget BBC World Service (an international radio station operated by the BBC), because they already updated the logo on their social media accounts since yesterday, in line with BBC News department. The schedule pages? Isn't that the TV Guide on iPlayer which is up to date. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/guide I never quite understand programme websites - where are you even supposed to access them from apart from the programme page on iPlayer. Why are there two, one on iPlayer and one on /programmes https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m000ggt7/five-bedrooms-series-1-6-fifty-years Will update Radio as you've said. The schedule pages as accessed from this link: https://www.bbc.co.uk/schedules Programme pages can be found as links from these schedule pages. Unlike the schedule pages on iPlayer and Sounds, these are permanent, and go further forward, and much further back. Likewise, the programme pages are meant to be a permanent canonical link to information about a programme, regardless of iPlayer/Sounds availability. Maybe that explains the retro branding? Maybe that explains the retro branding? Looking at the Internet Archive, they've been using the same picture since at least 2014, so maybe changed for an earlier anniversary and never changed back, or someone just likes the retro style? RE: BBC Chameleon progress checker - JAS84 - 26-04-2022 That'll be a red X against Magazines. RE: BBC Chameleon progress checker - chris - 26-04-2022 The BBC Sounds app only deserves a half-tick. The station logos are still the 2007 versions. RE: BBC Chameleon progress checker - DTV - 26-04-2022 Interesting that, as you mention, the NBH signage still hasn't been done. Does anybody know when they replaced the signage on TVC in 1997, because it must have been fairly quick - the change is visible by the sixth episode of I'm Alan Partridge which TXed on 8th December and must have been recorded at least several weeks in advance. RE: BBC Chameleon progress checker - mdta - 26-04-2022 BBC's International channel brands, and BBC Global News not on the list |
