Generic Graphics - W. Knight - 03-04-2022 Looking at the TV pres with similar ideas thread, I notice there's a good chunk of TV presentation that seems to follow a ready-made template, than having reminiscing elements, like BSkyB's The Movie Channel and the NBC movie opener. This makes me search for other variants of the same computer animations, and here they are: ![]() First, picking up from NBC, there's more in the family tree than BSkyB and Seven - TV3 in New Zealand followed the American animations even to the font. Meanwhile in Asia, Star Movies' variant (1994) is carbon copied by Zee Cinema (1995) in India, even to the placement of the word Cinema/Movies in a rectangle box. La Cinq, the short-lived French channel, adopted part of the formup (the film strips), but the opening statue makes me think of something else... ![]() One unexpected parallel is CBS' Get Ready graphics (using KDKA as an example) in 1989. Similar styles and placements were utilized in TVA affiliate CHEM-TV. Aside from these, are there more examples of pres bits and pieces used around the world? What was the principle behind it? Generic Graphics - Hatton Cross - 03-04-2022 The reason? Existing template from the graphics production house. Drop the clients logo and lettering in their corporate style on the top, but keep (or recolout) the swerling backgrounds. The NBC/Sky examples were not done in house, but from a company in LA called GRFX Novocom. Generic Graphics - Michael - 03-04-2022 Also happens with Audio idents. C3NE and Sky News 1996? (The original Saints Row + SR2 are both set in the fictional city of Stilwater, loosely based upon the real life city of Detroit, which of course is in the state of Michigan, although apparently has some elements of Chicago, Illinois. SR3 was set in a new fictional city called Steelport, loosely based upon a combination of NYC, with elements of Pittsburgh and Bridgeport, Connecticut.) Generic Graphics - Brekkie - 13-04-2022 Wasn't Granadas "Bringing the News Home to You" intro at the turn of the century a template also used in the US - Boston I think. And their 5 logo has more than a passing resemblence to the G arrow. I would link to their website, but it's blocked here in the UK.
