GB News - aaron_scotland - 15-10-2021 I highly doubt Nigel would go out in public on his show unless the audience was mostly supporters of him anyway, so we shouldn't be surprised. They probably bused them in! As a broadcaster, the duty is to reflect voices — not just those you can find in a pub. Imagine if a BBC report, or the audience for Question Time, were picked like that. There would be uproar, and rightly so. These are basic journalistic duties but there again, I’d hardly call this outfit journalist - despite its name. But what if the purpose of hosting it there was to get the opinion of elderly white Welsh men? Their views are equal in importance to every other citizen of the country. All other news organisations often select a sample of people from a target demographic to get a particular point of view. For example, if one channel does a round table with businesspeople discussing Brexit, COVID-19, etc, it's literally just a selection of businesspeople talking about the issues they face. They do not have someone from a political party arguing that they should be taxed more/less, regulated more/less, etc because the purpose of the piece is find out the views of business people. Well, you could moan - what about the employees of those businesses? Why are those voices being excluded? Whine, whine, whine. It's because it's not about them - nothing more sinister or gammon than that. Again, this is another example of this channel being judged by different standards editorially than to another. ISTR in addition the program contained Stephen Kinnock, the Labour MP (who in my opinion is future PM material). The program came from a town which has Labour MPs and AMs too. GB News - London Lite - 15-10-2021 Arlene Foster and Liam Halligan are presenting instead of The Afternoon Agenda in light of today's events in Essex. I think it’s Nana’s slot on Friday not anyway. GB News - TVViewer256 - 15-10-2021 No stings in or out of the break, instead a tribute graphic out of the break with no music and straight to the presenters. Colin and Michelle presenting next, it's just been announced. GB News - London Lite - 15-10-2021 No surprise that Colin is leading most of the 6pm hour. Michelle's delivery is not up for breaking news as she stumbled a cross to Amelia Harper in Southend. Nana has caused quite the stir online today in her other gig as a panellist on Jeremy Vine - plying GBN’s agenda on another platform: https://twitter.com/jeremyvineon5/status/1448938098411311115?s=21 GB News - London Lite - 15-10-2021 Poignant tweet from Simon McCoy this evening. https://twitter.com/SimonMcCoyTV/status/1449114643625095172 GB News - thecorrector - 16-10-2021 Oakeshott in full-on anti-mask territory yesterday: https://twitter.com/djnicholl/status/1449281819485032450?s=21 GB News - Rob - 16-10-2021 thecorrector post_id=47586 time= user_id=1692 Wrote:Oakeshott in full-on anti-mask territory yesterday: This post has nothing to do with television presentation. I'm not sure how they'll take off - I think it would've made more sense just to have the show's anchor(s) doing a summary at the start of the show, like in GMB at the TOTH etc. https://twitter.com/saffronjourno/status/1447622001166884864?s=20 GB News - Toby brown - 17-10-2021 Is it just me or does andrew doyles show talk about trans issues every week? |
