Don't think for a minute notable events on a "BBC Events" channel wouldn't be promoted to BBC1 as required. Indeed they'd be far more justification for doing that than there is for bumping from BBC2 to BBC1.
P.S. Murray is on third on Centre again tomorrow against Shapovalov. Federer v Norrie on Saturday which really is the match of the round from a British perspective.

Could go either way.
Murray may well lose, and the match before on Centre features the British no. 1, who should win. Won't be great to break away from that.
On the other hand, viewing figures for previous non-England matches have been higher than what Murray had yesterday.

Football will stay on One. Or I'll eat my hat :lol: Apart from anything else they wouldn't want to have to move the football back over from Two to One once the tennis finished, possibly mid-match.

Evans unlikely to be on court before 4.30pm now so Murray will be 6.30pm/7pm at the earliest so destined for the indignity of BBC2, although if the football wraps up in 90 minutes and Murray is still on court a post-10pm appearance on BBC1 is probably inevitable.

BBC Newsline in Northern Ireland is still scheduled for 30 minutes until 7.45 when they plan to crash into the football build-up. I presume it’s because of the troubles prosecution decision made today.

Well the BBC are having a lucky day; Evans v Korda finishes just before 7pm; the doubles match that had been on BBC2 finishes just as Murray is warming up. Perfect!
