I'm sure I remember an interview with a Saturday morning TV presenter or producer, saying how they'd deliberately give the kids plenty of free sugary snacks/drinks etc. shortly before the broadcast, to get them as hyperactive as possible…

Drink is common with comedy recordings as well. I went to an audience recording for a Lee Nelson show and they piled us all with booze.

I think that's a fictional GBN. If you zoom in, you can see that the logo is different. I understand the link being made when the logo is seen from a distance.

it was filmed well before (2020/21) gb news even started so they would have guessed the logo

They would have had to guess that GB News was even going to exist at that point seeing as it hadn't been announced when it was filmed.

They finished filming in june 2021 so by that time gbn was already well advanced. it you look at words below gbn it says britains news channel

Or it's just a co-incidence and someone tasked with inventing a fictional news channel for a drama series came up with the name "GBN" (it doesn't even say "GB News either, just GBN").
How can you say it says "Britain's News Channel" under the GBN as well? It's far too indistinct to make out what it says, and from what you can make out, the words look the wrong lengths- the second word is certainly more than 4 letters long for a start.
You have to ask why the producers of such a prestige drama would consider GB News important enough to include in a show like this- even if the launch had been announced at the time it was filmed (the channel certainly wouldn't have launched even if it was). It's not very plausible, unless Andrew Neil turns out to be a secret player in World Productions...

It's a coincidence as a result of the name being unoriginal. It's not readable in that image but the text on the dummy mics actually reads "Great Britain News".
