I mean, look at that - two BBC logos in use on the same screen?? Total lack of consistency - I'm sure the Comedy graphic at the top could have been easily updated in MS Paint for example, within a few minutes.

The BBC logo within the ECP not greatly positioned either - looked better on the BBC2 version at the top, so surely better to put the image below it.

Even in that simple layout, we have two different BBC logos next to each other. I've been quite hesitant to criticise the approach to the rebrand ahead of today, and I was never expecting bells and whistles from the off, but I did expect a sense of consistency. As another poster said, the third trail we saw this morning was a CBeebies one featuring an old BBC logo and an old iPlayer logo, followed by a Children in Need promo featuring a (static) old BBC logo. The first show we saw was Breakfast which featured the old logo on graphics and props. We know the News rebrand is a while off, but surely the new logo could have been implemented into the existing graphics in the interim.
It doesn't feel like a gradual, thought out rebrand. It feels like a half baked and under prepared rebrand. And that's a shame, because it's rather taking away from the sleekness of the new look.

The slight bubble effect used for the BBC One trails looks good and I guess is used in the new idents, so could look pretty nice when we finally see them.
Not much else I can really be enthused about though...
The logo animation on the ident doesn't work when the previous trail isn't for a programme (CBeebies, CiN, anything iPlayer etc.), it looks like we've crashed into an ident part way through.
The nations text is now so small there's barely any point them having it.
Conversely, the Subtitles text is now unnecessarily bigger.
The mix of drop shadow/no drop shadow text is a bit rubbish on the Oneness idents - I know, it's a stop-gap. May as well have ditched the location.
With both BBC One and Two trails now being bookended by a channel sting, it can be a little hard to tell what channel the preceding trail was actually for. There's a lot going on in a trail these days.
The ECP mix of left/centre/left aligned text is odd, but that's what happens when you split apart the channel logo I guess.
Fundamentally there's nothing I've seen so far to suggest they needed to change the logo, which would have saved a world of inconsistency over the coming months. I do get the logic of a gradual rollout and "see how we look in a year's time" but it would have been nice for some parts to have been updated on day one - they Reithed the BBC News titles the other year, surely they could have done the same for today.

To those who keep saying it’s been rolled out as planned, I don’t think it’s being rolled out as planned, I think it’s being rolled out early. It seems as if the new logo has been leaked and they’ve gone early with the headline elements to save face.
I think this is being rolled forward by about six months, if I’m honest. No ITK here, just my thoughts

This is very much a planned exercise which is being done in a controlled way. The pausing of the new One idents underlines, in my opinion, how controlled this actually is. It's a slow roll out but one which is very much planned.

I actually think you are right it just dosent seem right with a minimum joint up approach

It's being rolled out as planned (apart from the newly filmed videos for ONE idents). Take my word for it or anyone else's who has been providing information over the last few weeks.

And yet 99% won't even notice the change... I do think a pinch of salt is needed here. Any rebrand involves a 'change over' period (and yes, that will, at some point, involve amnesty bins for old letterheads). The point being: there was always going to be instances where the 97 logo sat alongside the 21 logo. It's not a bad thing, or messy, or inconsistent - it's just the nature of change.
Whilst we're at it, if you think the BBC are bad at this, wait until you Tesco, the Post Office, HM Government, etc etc etc.
