ITV leaves the South Bank - Brekkie - 29-01-2022 Studios being stripped out. https://twitter.com/paulburton73/status/1487112689642090507 ITV leaves the South Bank - Bluecortina - 29-01-2022 Brekkie post_id=65724 time= user_id=976 Wrote:Studios being stripped out. Nice shot showing the lighting grid. Always a bit nervous walking out there knowing there was nothing underneath, just human nature I guess. ITV leaves the South Bank - Inspector Sands - 29-01-2022 Apparently there were some photos of the inside on the LWT staffers Facebook group too but for obvious reasons I can't see that, though not sure I want to! I hadn't realised that (accoridng to the comments on that Twitter thread) the owners didn't have permission for the new development, or to demolish it yet ITV leaves the South Bank - Moz - 29-01-2022 Brekkie post_id=65724 time= user_id=976 Wrote:Studios being stripped out. Says in that Twitter thread that the new owners don’t yet have permission to knock it down. There's no way the council are going to suddenly say that it's all got to be restored back to working TV studios. It's really just a question of what replaces it, and the proposed building hasn't gone down well. I don't think that ITVs original proposals were ever decided on, if they had have been then presumably the current owners would presumably would have had permission to demolish. Incidently I think had ITV continued with their original plan, and it had gone to schedule (unlikely considering what's happened since) I think they would have been returning to the site soon. The building has had a long stay of execution... and ITV did very well selling pre-covid ITV leaves the South Bank - XIII - 30-01-2022 I assume it'll either be new homes or offices with a cultural element. I think it is fair to conclude that he is not a fan. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/apr/24/londons-south-bank-deserves-better-than-brute-of-a-building RE: ITV leaves the South Bank - Brekkie - 24-04-2022 Looks like a 60's monstrosity due for demolition, not something being presented to planning in the 21st century. Nowhere near as nice as the original redevelopment plansa were either. RE: ITV leaves the South Bank - thegeek - 03-05-2022 For some reason I thought this was already public knowledge, but ITV have announced today that they're combining their London offices at White City, including taking over three floors of the Broadcast Centre. https://www.standard.co.uk/homesandproperty/property-news/itv-move-staff-bbc-television-centre-white-city-b997646.html?amp RE: ITV leaves the South Bank - gottago - 03-05-2022 (03-05-2022, 07:31 PM)thegeek Wrote: For some reason I thought this was already public knowledge, but ITV have announced today that they're combining their London offices at White City, including taking over three floors of the Broadcast Centre. It actually was publicly announced last year but the move started today which is probably why this new press release has come out. Waterhouse Square will completely close next week while Gray's Inn will shut in Spring 2023. Broadcast Centre now has what might well be a unique set up of having a BBC branded reception right next to an ITV branded one. Any regional examples of this? Wasn't Waterhouse Square always meant to be temporary though? RE: ITV leaves the South Bank - JK1985 - 03-05-2022 Can someone tell me, will ITN be moving out of Grays Inn Road? Someone here said it shuts in 2023, so where will ITV News move? ITV leased space at GIR, ITN aren't moving, RE: ITV leaves the South Bank - JK1985 - 03-05-2022 Thank you, was getting a tiny bit confused there. |
