It feels like it is being far more prominently mentioned in interviews this time than in previous games. I thought that too, but of course nothing wrong with that, credit where credits due and all that. It feels like it is being far more prominently mentioned in interviews this time than in previous games. It was just as prominent in 2016. Having seen a lot of the Athletics on Eurosport the Athletes sometimes only thank the Lottery on the BBC and not on Eurosport. Tokyo Olympics 2020 on BBC and Eurosport - UTVLifer - 07-08-2021 Hazel has just signed off from her final live coverage slot with a thank you to everyone before handing over to Gabby, though she will be commentating the Closing Ceremony tomorrow (isn't it with Andrew Cotter again?) Wales Today's lunchtime bulletin extended to feature a Mark Drakeford press conference on COVID restrictions and BBC Two moving to Bargain Hunt as scheduled on network. Surprised the press conference is not at 17:15 like one was the week before the Olympics - it would solve this problem. Tokyo Olympics 2020 on BBC and Eurosport - Brekkie - 07-08-2021 He's really suited the afternoon show format. Tokyo Olympics 2020 on BBC and Eurosport - XIII - 07-08-2021 I would assume that Today at the Games in 2024 will be in the late night post news slot since the live coverage will be all day and in primetime, Tokyo Olympics 2020 on BBC and Eurosport - UTVLifer - 07-08-2021 Newshound47 post_id=32977 time= user_id=1854 Wrote:Brekkie post_id=32951 time= user_id=976 Wrote:He's really suited the afternoon show format. It a shame it won’t be able to be used in Paris unless they air it 11pm-2am, (which they might actually do so that they can say all the sports got some decent coverage on BBC1). I think Jason's 'best of the rest' format would probably work pretty well around that time slot of 11pm-2am. Though I'm not sure where Today At The Games would fit in, maybe they'd do the highlights, and then Jason with the rest Tokyo Olympics 2020 on BBC and Eurosport - Brekkie - 07-08-2021 I think it'll have to be the shorter highlights format post-news for Paris, just as it was for London. They may do an "Extra" style show afterwards for something in a bit more detail, but that would be after midnight. Personally much prefer the format of the afternoon show where they basically approach things as if they were happening now rather than the Today at the Games format which is more short snippets with packages and interviews. I think they could have probably sacrificed The One Show for the fortnight to give the evening show two hours and find a happy compromise between the two. Tokyo Olympics 2020 on BBC and Eurosport - Meteor - 07-08-2021 I do hope that in 2024 the BBC will make both the BBC1 and Red Button streams available in UHD/HDR. I think it was said in discussions much earlier in this thread that the BBC had judged the necessary satellite bandwidth too expensive but that shouldn't be a problem with Paris. Tokyo Olympics 2020 on BBC and Eurosport - UTVLifer - 07-08-2021 There was a nice montage at the end of the final Olympics Extra tonight. I'm slightly surprised they aren't doing one last programme (maybe just a 30 minute one) tomorrow given there is still stuff going on tonight into early tomorrow morning. But I assume that Review will round everything up before the Closing Ceremony tomorrow at 11am Tokyo Olympics 2020 on BBC and Eurosport - UTVLifer - 07-08-2021 Brekkie post_id=32995 time= user_id=976 Wrote:I think it'll have to be the shorter highlights format post-news for Paris, just as it was for London. Canada does it as well. Someone said it dates back to an old AP style guide. Those big ONE letters have got to go, considering the channel logo, and therefore the show's logo, will be changing due to the BBC rebrand.Brekkie post_id=32995 time= user_id=976 Wrote:I think it'll have to be the shorter highlights format post-news for Paris, just as it was for London.
