BBC Three - Brekkie - 01-02-2022

You'll need to retune - the SD version will appear on 23 and HD on 109, plus most SD channels from 25 onwards are knocked down a number again.

BBC News reporting the share of 16-34 year olds fell from 22% when BBC3 closed to just 6% today. Whilst no doubt it would have fallen anyway closing it obviously was the disaster we all though it would be, hence it's return.

The hands have names and distinct personalities/roles, according to this mildly cringey paragraph:

Apologies if this has been discussed - is there a technical reason BBC Three isn't taking BBC Four's position on all platforms, if a higher slot isn't available?

The EPG numbers are a mess, especially the Sky situation.

I think that might have appeared after closedown in the middle of the night, before CBBC went on air. I also think it may have appeared briefly for a minute or so before 7pm. But as BBC Three has always shared the same video stream as CBBC there’s no way this would have appeared during the day.

Something I'm struggling to fathom is why people are talking about the cost. There's a Guardian piece today moaning about how this is costing the BBC money while other areas are likely to be cut back.

But the programming was already being made for iPlayer, the transmitters are already on and broadcasting the rest of the BBC, so how is it costing them a significant amount more than it was prior to today? There's a bit of continuity and some idents, and that's about it, as far as I can see. Can someone more knowledgeable enlighten me as to what this is actually costing?

The green building looked an awful lot like Broadcasting House - probably because it was.

That BBC sign on the first "pillar" looked interesting - maybe there's some plans to do that IRL?

BBC Three - RDJ - 01-02-2022

Interesting stacked version of the new BBC logo on the building there.

Is that an official version of the logo in a stacked form?

Not official I don’t believe but you can now play with the blocks under the new guidelines so something we may see more of

If you think the stacked version of the logo is official or not, you must visit the New Broadcasting House, where you can find the blocks logo (in 1997 Gill Sans) appeared in the room and i believe it was official for that building only Wink . I suspect they must replace the signage with Reith equivalent.
