W to go free-to-air - CATV - 20-03-2022 Since the craft store merged into create and craft, freeview channel 95 ‘craft Extra’ has not broadcast at all. I wonder if a deal has been made and the steam that uses channel 95 will be hand over to uktv so W can launch. Something like; 19 Dave 20 Drama 25 Yesterday 27 W 74 Dave ja vu 75 Drama +1 95 Yesterday +1 or W +1 I noticed my tv is displaying Dave ja vu schedule on Drama +1 channel 74 (freeview). Not sure if it’s just my tv or something has launched early. I have also noticed in the last 48 hours ideal Extra on 94 (freeview) has stopped broadcasting to. It now shows a local tv breakdown slide. I guess because the channel on local multi plex. I wonder if this stream has been brought for the upcoming launch of TalkTV? Exactly, the channel name is literally the letter 'W' - it doesn't have to stand for anything. Despite having the same misgivings as others around 'W' being a weak brand, at least the current logo and branding is quite classy. At first glance, this new logo looks cheap and tacky, and reminds of the types of trashy channels that inhabit the lower end of the EPG. Maybe I will change my mind when the full branding package is revealed next week. W to go free-to-air - JetixFann450 - 21-03-2022 Judging from the text indicating "CHANGE IS COMING", I imagine it'll look dynamic (and to be honest, were UKTV looking at this forum, especially Lynetwork's mock for the new look? ) Not sure about the logo, but it does symbolically represent the change from a classy, premium pay-TV channel to a light hearted free-to-air channel. I would've probably rebranded the channel under a new name. W to go free-to-air - Robert Williams - 21-03-2022 Images of the idents, and possibly breakbumpers, are now on the UKTV site. Just everyday live action footage with a logo on top, so nothing particularly interesting: https://corporate.uktv.co.uk/news/article/uktvs-w-launches-life-unfiltered-rebrand/ W to go free-to-air - London Lite - 21-03-2022 It looks like UKTV are relaunching W to fill the void left by Really where Discovery have turned that into a full time documentary channel. W to go free-to-air - Josh - 21-03-2022 Surely that's not the new logo. Surely not. |
