BBC Three - Ash101 - 21-01-2022 Yes I believe “box sets” as a weekend fixture were mentioned in the focus group document of proposed schedules. I cannot find it right now but it’s the one which also mentioned the 7-9 block being suitable for the higher end of CBBC target age but this doesn’t really look like it’s happening in Week 1 - but hard to judge when it’s launch show and 2 football matches! BBC Three - Thistle - 21-01-2022 New trails will start airing tomorrow promoting the launch of BBC Three. I also noticed in the latest video on the BBC Three YouTube channel that at the end a graphic with the iPLAYER logo with it's icon appeared. BBC Three sticks out like a sore thumb. BBC Three - JetixFann450 - 22-01-2022 I do assume that the BBC will finally start using the iPlayer and Sounds icons once every channel and station has rebranded. Right now, this is the case for all the BBC channels, as they have all rebranded to use the new BBC logo, so launching the new 3-block iPlayer icon would logically make sense. Radio 1 and all that may take a while, but we've seen the Sounds icon creep in, so it's not out of the question. Worth noting that all BBC main linear television channels (ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR) are using the Reith font, joining Alba, Scotland (both are rebranded last year) News, and Parliament that already reithized their logo before BBC blocks rebrand, even News and Parliament didn't implemented the new BBC logo until spring this year at earliest. Only CBBC and CBeebies that will keep their iconic logos once the wider rebrand has completed (with the new BBC logo slapped on their children's channels). I think it's a huge mistake really not to carry the tricon over to the channel.I'm not convinced that's a valid comparison. BBC2 2009 was a compromised and badly executed design handbrake turn that clashed with the leftover presentation and the content of its programmes. BBC Three's new pres is loud, brash and attention grabbing. The BBC has to go all in and, from what I've seen, the pres reflects an attitude of "this is make or break". It fits with the target audience and the programming. Some thoughts on the retirement of the tricon: • Symbol of the online only era • The primary services (iPlayer, Sounds, etc) have app-like icons. The channels don't, they have a consistent wordmark and a more abstract, unique on screen device. • It's made up of 4 blocks, breaking the 3 block rule of the new icons. I quite liked the revised version of the tricon that added a bit more space between the top and bottom of the "!" block. There's more that could have been done with it on screen. Time for a clean sweep, however. New branding perfectly fits for a 23-year-old viewer like myself. BBC Three - Kunst - 22-01-2022 I only now wish BBC Two went more blueish, since it's a colour missing within the BBC logos BBC Three - Lyric W. - 22-01-2022 Kunst post_id=64390 time= user_id=1292 Wrote:I only now wish BBC Two went more blueish, since it's a colour missing within the BBC logosand BBC Scotland + BBC Alba aren't?
