Reading this thread, I'm surprised no one has mentioned when 3FM/NPO 3FM in the Netherlands hosted a few television radio shows, which I believe were originally broadcasted on their digital channel NPO 101 (now NPO 1 Extra).
Biggest one that comes to mind is Serious 3FM Request, where a few 3FM DJs stay in some glass house for a few weeks/days with nothing to eat but only drink water. It's big enough it ends up being broadcasted on NPO 1 and NPO 3, their youth television channel.

All this wonderful talk about radio on television, but nobody has talked about what the BBC did back in the 70s and early 80s. I remember shows like My Music being made mainly for Radio 4, but also being shown on BBC2, because they had cameras there recording it as well. Yes Minister was an example of going the other way round. The sitcom was mainly recorded for BBC Television, but they then re-used the same scripts and cast to record radio versions as well. Some of that could be done as well as live broadcasts.

Doubt it, they spent a lot on refurbishing it these past few years. Scala is at OGS but like the Camden studios is a "glass" studio with a virtual console. If anything there's enough office space to build more studios at OGS.
But now we've proved that home broadcasting can work, do stations NEED a physical studio anymore? I'd argue a lot don't, and playout software vendors are already putting in ways you can broadcast live via a browser; the station plays out the music, ads and production whilst the presenter sends their vocals down the line with almost no latency, with the talent able to control the system in the browser, see and edit the playlist etc. It's effectively taking the BBC's VILOR setup to the next level.

And the NPO Radio 2 Top 2000 which is usually broadcast as well on NPO 1 Extra between Christmas Day and New Year's Eve

it is, for breakfast shows only. 20 hours per day is automated.

Started with Capital FM and Capital Gold, but has expanded through the Capital Group & CGCap eras - XFM would have been first to move in, then Choice, then Classic when they merged with GWR. Heart & LBC would have followed in the Global era, and then Smooth when they bought GMG.
Gold was in the old One Network studio, which was famously Radio X's temporary home when they had a mini-refit (and Moyles had a rant about it) but is now in what is effectively a news booth between Classic and Smooth. This was back in 2018, mind - I imagine they've built a few more studios now for the various brand extensions.

Virgin was supposed to be the first station to move into LSQ, but the acquisition was cancelled after the Monopolies and Mergers Commission recommended that Capital either sold Capital Gold or relinquished Virgin's FM licence in London, in the end Xfm moved in and even for a period appeared to have a Virgin style playlist in 1998.
Virgin was eventually sold to Chris Evans' Ginger Media Group.

At the time the news on Radio Scotland all came from Edinburgh. In Ken Bruce's autobiography he talks about the disastrous early days of Radio Scotland, and how they could seemingly never decide whether it should be from Glasgow or Edinburgh, and it swapped around every five minutes.

At the time it felt like such a novelty to tune in to *watch* someone host a radio show. Sure there was the Comic Relief element, but it was incredibly addictive. Plus, R1 were still in Yalding House at the time, broadcasting in studios that were in no way aesthetically pleasing or made for television broadcast.
Personally (apart from events like the above) I’m still a bit skeptical about radio on linear television - even as a lover of both. It works great for short social media clips as the bright, glossy studios catches your attention, but I still don’t see the appeal of watching a radio on TV where I can just pop the radio on and have pretty much the same experience.
Having said that, I’d give my arm to watch Ken Bruce whilst he does Popmaster...
However, as a once off it is permissible and provides an insight as to what goes on.
Steve Wright though is notoriously camera-shy, however, I do subscribe to his view that he probably signed up for radio and not television.

While I'm not a particular fan of using radio studios for tv simulcasts, the studio used for Apolline Direct which is on RMC Radio and RMC Découverte is a good example of it done a lot better than just sticking some fixed cameras in an existing radio studio.

Radio NZ National stream on Freeview has a slideshow to accompany the audio, which they use to show headlines or other relevant content alongside the audio. Radio NZ (both National and Concert) have been on Freeview for quite some time, but the addition of a visual element is reasonably recent, prior to this, I believe there was a video stream, but it just carried black at all times.
It's been suggested that this might one day become a PSB channel in it's own right, similar to the BBC, but opinions both for and against that are quite strong, so I'm not sure if it'll actually happen.

I imagine a lot of radio presenters dislike having visuals in the studio as you have to glam up a bit whereas in years gone by, you could look as rough as old boots and get away with it.
