Yeah the hotel I lived in when I was working in Fuengirola in Spain back in 2010 randomly offered BBC One, BBC Four and Channel 5, done I assume by a stack of boxes in reception then placed on an RF loop.
When I went back in 2015 for a holiday it had clearly been replaced with an IP-based system.

Looks like the Virgin Media UK/O2 UK merger has now been fully approved, the transaction will be completed on 1st June:

Today is the first day of the new Virgin Media/O2 joint venture, it seems that the joint venture will retain both the Virgin Media and O2 brands, just like VodafoneZiggo in the Netherlands. I'm surprised that they've kept the Virgin name.

Whether they'll continue using both brand names in the long term is perhaps less certain.

The retail websites have the announcement on there. It's not like BT where if you're a Plusnet or EE customer where they don't promote the BT brand to their customers although they're all part of the same group.

Apparently customers have been receiving texts as well announcing the merger, I haven't had one as a Virgin Mobile customer, but O2 customers have today.
