Test card is now up.

Is it just me, or is there some kind of optical illusion going on that makes the testcard look like it's tilted to the right?

I wonder if this appear “unexpectedly” on TV during junctions or before programmes on iPlayer like the Doctor Who trail, and essentially become a 2022 equivalent of the CBBC bugs pre-launch promotion from 2002

Yep, looks like all of BBC Three's social media accounts have had their profiles updated in preparation for the channel's relaunch which is not long to go now, only 12 days to go.

The green revolution will be televised.
The pink revolution is dead and gone.

Iconic staples like Bizarre ER and Don't Tell the Bride won't inevitably be given up from Channel 4's backlog.

They also disapproved of the Friday marathon of "Angels of the North", which, while somewhat interesting to see the outlook of a barber shop in Birmingham, it's sorta excessive for a launch week when BBC Three is intending on showing why it's worth their revival. That, and the pandemic probably didn't help matters, thus the schedules are not perfect.

I happened to mention that BBC Three could strengthen itself if it acquired the next best thing besides Fox shows... Netflix. I know DMAX originally aired BoJack Horseman for a temporary while, so it's not impossible for those shows to get a terrestrial TV showing. F is for Family, Close Enough, all of which appeal to BBC Three's audience and would fill holes in schedules and rise numbers up for the channel.

Overall, I don't think this schedule is anything more than a testing ground for the waters, to see if audiences are aware of the channel's existence and to see if they can pull numbers back. A lot has to be done for people to gain interest however.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Anime.

It's reasonably popular on Netflix (and other streaming services) with the target audience but apart from a few old series on All4 (which I don't believe got a TV airing), it's something that ITV2 and E4 are ignoring.
It’s incredibly niche.

BBC Three - Blubatt - 20-01-2022

Anime is a niche interest, and I think that going for the broader stuff is better for BBC Three to come back with. That isn't to say it wouldn't be cool. As an aside, E4's Adult Swim stuff is very good, and I implore those of you who like animation to watch it. However, I must say, this is not the stuff I am interested in watching. Might give some of it a try, like the new news show and the comedy show, but I don't like reality shows, I don't like Ru Paul's Drag Race, and I don't listen to Radio One. If that's the sort of stuff people like, then I am sure you'll like BBC Three. Just not enough stuff for me RN.

The new green logo is now present on the BBC Three schedules on the test sub-domain.

BBC Three - octothorpe - 21-01-2022

By the way, it looks like that "Angel of the North"-filled Friday 4th schedule looks to be just a placeholder. There's supposed to be Winter Olympics coverage on that night, seemingly 8-9pm: https://www.televisual.com/news/bbc-unveils-winter-olympics-plans/

Oh, and I agree with @JetixFann450 regarding their suggestions for late-night animation; F is for Family and Close Enough would be great fits, IMO, and the fact Close Enough's episodes are actually two-in-one means that they can easily chop them up for ~10-minute filler when needs be. And there's precedent in Netflix shows airing on linear too, so it wouldn't be that much of a hypothetical.

And a hello to green on BBC Three

I love how they've incorporated the hands into the promo material. Shout-out to the one doing a split atop RuPaul's head.

BBC Three - thomalex - 21-01-2022

Hands confirmed to be the main element of the pres and not multiple objects then.

Also interesting to see the shade of green used requires the THREE text to be in black. That nice bit of consistency we've had with channel logos all being white text on a colour background for the past few months gone already.

BBC Three - Rick - 21-01-2022

And whatever they've uploaded for the profile image isn't centered and is low res also as the text is rather blurry.

BBC Three - HarryB - 21-01-2022

That purple and green BBC logo!?!
