Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel | GB News - KryptonITV - 03-01-2022 From today's edition of the programme, it came across as being a hybrid of former programmes Sunrise and GMTV. I think Sarah-Jane Mee was also a cohost at one point. Seem to remember her filling in for Charlotte/Isabel’s maternity/holiday leave Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel | GB News - Scrotnig - 04-01-2022 KryptonITV post_id=61591 time= user_id=1181 Wrote:From today's edition of the programme, it came across as being a hybrid of former programmes Sunrise and GMTV.Which I strongly suspect is exactly what they want. Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel | GB News - Sweep2021 - 05-01-2022 Far too many weather forecasts this morning. Also feels like nobody behind the scenes has a clue what they’re doing. No communication between hosts & gallery. Needs sorting as it’s showing this morning quite visibly. If they had those news updates like they do during the day, evening, it may help to bring a bit more structure to it. Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel | GB News - JK08 - 05-01-2022 I didn't want to comment based on a few social clips of the new show, so I've held off until I've had chance to watch at length. It's the closest thing to a broadcast-quality product that I've seen GB News produce since launch. It's perfectly watchable and I'm actually impressed. I'm glad to see not every programming block on the channel is being subjected to the Patrick Christys/Dan Wooten-style right-wing rambling. It's a quality news programme. Some elements don't work. Isabel's first half-hour felt dragged out, with Paul Hawkins' two-way and the piece with an LA showbiz reporter both feeling far too long. In my opinion that first half hour should be a fast-paced bulletin. The reception desk set doesn't work for interviews. It never has. They need a desk that actually accommodates somebody sat on the other side of it. This is also an issue the breakfast bar has with the paper reviews. Having the host and contributors sat along as though they're judging the X Factor looks jarring. Now that Andrew Neil's bunker is largely obsolete, I think it may still be used for Dan Wooton Tonight? I don't watch though so couldn't say 100%, they could really do with transforming that wasted space into something much more appropriate. I'd probably relocate the soft-set to that side of the studio, as the breakfast bar would be in the back of the shot of the current one, so wouldn't work logistically for Breakfast. It does seem as though the channel is improving. Now if they could reign in the rambling opinion hosts and 'debates' on trans rights, they might be on the right track to become something of an actual news channel. Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel | GB News - TVViewer256 - 07-01-2022 What this show has shown is that GB News can still do things very differently and inject personality into their programming without going full-opinion mode. Really enjoying the show and, if Eamonn’s recent Tweet is correct, it’s been brilliant for the ratings. Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel | GB News - JamesWorldNews - 08-01-2022 I have to say, although I’ve only been able to see bits and pieces online, I rather liked the whole new look. And I think Eamonn and Isabel work well together. I can see it going from strength to strength. Now for Stephen and Anne........let’s see! Breakfast | GB News - news727 - 08-01-2022 You can follow the show as it happened here: https://youtu.be/uiUFcfjlxqs Breakfast | GB News - JamesWorldNews - 09-01-2022 Stephen and Anne are working well together. Both professional and experienced. I don’t like the set-up with paper reviewers on either end of the bar. I’d prefer both reviewers to be at the same end. I watched a bit of the show it over the weekend. Nothing I saw that would set the world alight (in either a good or bad way !), but actually more watchable than Sky News or BBC Breakfast, (both of which just serve up re-heated stuff and are both rather 'meh' during weekend breakfast) There do seem to be two 'GB News' channels emerging here. Both with very different vibes. Not seen the weekday breakfast show yet. Breakfast | GB News - Scrotnig - 11-01-2022 I just wish they'd have the same structured news bulletins they have in literally every other show, during the Breakfast programmes. It would ass structure to the programme. Aside from that minor niggle, I really like the new look for Breakfast, and the presenters, retro titles and all. Breakfast | GB News - gman - 04-02-2022 I know that this has already been mentioned but that desk/table really has to go! With two anchors and two guests for the press review it does not make for a comfortable watch. It means that for about 50% of the segment, the presenters have their backs to one of the guests. In the meantime, the other guest is left out in the cold because they can't see anything without leaning forward! That whole section of the programme would be better if it was presented from the sofa area. |
