Channel 4 - valley - 02-04-2022 Sir Ian Cheshire is the new chairman of Channel 4. https://www.cityam.com/ex-kingfisher-boss-sir-ian-cheshire-appointed-channel4-chairman/ Channel 4 - Brekkie - 03-04-2022 So a banker rather than a broadcaster then. Doesn't feel like great news. RE: Channel 4 - paul_hadley - 17-04-2022 Channel 4 are running their “Alpro sponsors Channel 4 Breakfast” bumpers at this time of day… RE: Channel 4 - telebox2001 - 17-04-2022 (03-04-2022, 12:47 PM)Brekkie Wrote: So a banker rather than a broadcaster then. Doesn't feel like great news. Not sure I agree. The Chairman isn't going to be across the creative side of things. If anything a demonstration that a steady hand on the wallet can be achieved in the public domain may go in their favour. RE: Channel 4 - no1fanofthepals - 01-05-2022 Channel 4 aired an ident saying Eid Mubarak earlier today before SAS: Who Dares Wins. https://twitter.com/cleanfeed_ttvr/status/1520860207647272965?s=20&t=xwLf_yyy4OChkPfN5FiFdw RE: Channel 4 - no1fanofthepals - 09-05-2022 A promo for both Altogether Different and Mental Health Awareness Week just aired on E4 before the Indeed sponsor. It was a mix of the Channel 4 idents along with a voiceover of the Channel 4 giant thing*. *No clue what it is called RE: Channel 4 - Brekkie - 09-05-2022 The C4 giant now has a voice for Mental Health Awareness week. Can only find a cropped version online: https://twitter.com/Channel4/status/1523690506567528449 https://www.channel4.com/press/news/channel-4-highlight-loneliness-mental-health-awareness-week RE: Channel 4 - Dogorilla - 11-05-2022 Channel 4 has made a deal with YouTube to have some of their shows available on the site for free: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2022/may/11/channel-4-strikes-deal-to-air-1000-hours-of-hit-shows-for-free-on-youtube Incidentally, Taskmaster already has several full series available for free on YouTube (internationally as well as in the UK), but I guess it was Taskmaster's own production company that made that decision rather than Channel 4. RE: Channel 4 - Joe - 11-05-2022 And we come full circle – years ago too, the shows were available on YouTube. RE: Channel 4 - IanJRedman - 11-05-2022 This also means shows can be watched in 1080p. I'm not sure if All4 offers that? RE: Channel 4 - reworP wehttaM - 12-05-2022 ![]() Is that... the 2007 Channel 4 font in a slide from 2021? (Granted, this was probably done in a rush since they couldn't overlay product placement warnings on the show anymore, as far as I know, but... y'know) RE: Channel 4 - no1fanofthepals - 16-05-2022 Just before Hollyoaks on E4, the ident used was not a normal one (e.g. the people building it) but it was the one they use when announcing a content warning after a break. If you don't know what I mean, it looked like this: https://www.tvwhirl.co.uk/presentation/channel-4/e4-channel/e4-2018-onwards/?clip=29023 RE: Channel 4 - Brekkie - 16-05-2022 Don't get me started on those content warnings around Hollyoaks. Every bloody day, which means on the rare occassions where they are warranted they are meaningless. At least you don't get them when watching on All4, though the post-credit scene is unwatchable due to the enforced credit squeeze which doesn't work properly (for me at least) and can't be clicked out of. On my Android phone, I can press back and watch the post-credit scene in full-screen but it doesn't work on TVs. No content warning after the break today though. RE: Channel 4 - Brekkie - 16-05-2022 Yes - only chromecasting works for me to avoid the situation. They did fix it for a couple of episodes but it soon became an issue again. |
