The Unification Of ITV - KrazyKei - 23-02-2022 There was no doubt that ITV unification was inevitable. Bosses like Ward Thomas, Sidney Bernstein and others were supportive of the unification and it was always going to happen if it meant challenging the BBC back in the early 2000's. Now, with streaming services starting to dominate the viewing figures, you could argue that the ITV and BBC investment in BritBox would sustain their futures as FTA air channels for at least another 20 years. However, I seriously believe that ITV should give up their PSB licenses. I know people would think I am mad but ITV have been moaning that the PSB licenses are somewhat restrictive to their creativity ambitions. If that is the case, maybe OFCOM should regionalise Channel 3 again. That's just my view. |
