I hope not, 'cause you wouldn't know which channel to associate those programmes with. Great TV Mistakes/Movie Mistakes was an awesome programme, as everyone could enjoy it. It'd normally be one of the final programmes of the night for the channel, but it was usually the first during live events such as the BAFTAs. They need to get some American Imports back; don't you miss watching Family Guy with no adverts? And it was announced a month ago that it would return to telly, subject to approval of course, which made it even more exciting to research on. Will it undergo a rebrand? Possibly. It's a little early for such a decision to be made at the moment. Once more details about the channel have been decided including the programmes that will feature, the creative team are sure to look at how best to market and promote the channel, which in turn will lead into the identity that the channel has for its presentation. Will it spark a whole BBC rebrand? No. No channel rebrand anywhere ever has, as far as I am aware, been the reason to then go on and rebrand an entire company/corporation. It is more likely that the reverse happens, that any planned BBC wide rebrand would influence what any new BBC Three brand looks like. There are influences from particular channel brands that stick from time to time and become part of a wider set of tools used in the presentation packages, but they're not necessarily planned as such in the first instance. Will it regain lost shows? Probably not. Lost shows will have moved to other broadcasters and channels with agreements in place for how long such channels can show that content and the amount of new content that will be produced. Just because a programme originally started on BBC Three when it was broadcasting a full schedule doesn't give any reason for said programme to return to BBC Three in the future. The likelihood that channel agreements are about to expire at the right time and BBC Three makes a suitable offer that is accepted for the programme to return is very slim. Will it regain its audience? For this one, only time will tell. With the right programmes, a good marketing strategy and plenty of promotion there is no reason why the channel should not do well. I find myself just watching The Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad on Disney+ instead of having to put up with the ads and censorship on Channel 4 and ITV2. The BBC Three Thread - Robert Williams - 07-04-2021 ChrisOnTees post_id=3496 time=1617782739 user_id=1448 Wrote:-Will it undergo a rebrand? I think that's a given - when you're doing a big relaunch you'll want a whole new look to go with it. Hopefully the 'tricon' logo will be seen as associated with the online era and thus ditched when BBC Three returns to television. At the moment the branding seems a bit confused with the THREE logo used in some contexts, such as on iPlayer, while the II! appears elsewhere, such as on the BBC Three website. In fact I wonder if the latter will even survive - it will probably no longer be necessary. Quote:-Will it spark a whole BBC rebrand? Doubt it - as much as I would like to see a 1991 or 1997-style rebrand across the BBC's channels, and with BBC One and BBC Four also both being in need of new looks, I just can't see it happening. Quote:-Will it regain lost shows? It is planned for programmes from BBC Three's 'back catalogue' to be broadcast in the late night slot, but I think those expecting the channel to simply carry on where it left off and start producing new episodes of the likes of Don't Tell the Bride are going to be disappointed. Obviously the imports such as Family Guy will certainly not be back. Quote:-Will it regain its audience? That one I can't answer! Hybrid post_id=3529 time=1617790149 user_id=1230 Wrote:My guess is that they will air CBBC shows for the older section of the demographic (The Demon Headmaster, Tracy Beaker, Creeped Out etc.) There has also been some online programming produced for a teen audience. The problem at the moment is that there is no branded 'zone' in iPlayer for this content so there doesn't seem to be an obvious easy way to find it. Some of it is being shown on television, such as The Amelia Gething Complex which is currently broadcasting new episodes within the children's zone on Saturday mornings on BBC2, but giving this type of programming a more prominent home on BBC Three early evenings would be a step forward. Most likely repeats from the past day. It isn't much space to fill though, as BBC One normally ends at midnight. A competitor to Peston would be nice, however. They may continue to show BBC Three programmes on BBC One. BBC Three programmes were shown on BBC One in the past, before BBC Three was closed down as a TV channel, so there's no reason why they can't continue after BBC Three returns. The BBC Three Thread - Ash101 - 07-04-2021 True. I suppose no difference to when they used to show kids shows in the afternoon even though they were shown on a separate channel at the time (when people had Freeview, I understand the reasoning back in the day!) They do seem to repeat entertainment shows after the Three slot anyway. Think I’ve seen the likes of The Wall, Top Gear & This Is MY House in the post-11:30 slot recently. The BBC Three Thread - PATV Scunthorpe - 07-04-2021 I don't think they'll rebrand BBC Three when relaunching the channel, while they've had the tricon since 2016, they only updated the logo last year. The 'THREE' is now the primary logo, with the tricon being the secondary logo only used in small spaces, such as a social media profile picture. The BBC Three Thread - bkman1990 - 11-04-2021 I think regarding the american import side of things on BBC Three. They should keep the Hulu dramas on it to keep younger viewers on the channel. I find them to be really good.
