Good question. The ITV Evening News isn’t working for me on ITV Hub so I can’t check. Presumably it would only have been the England version though.

Did anyone catch the itv teatime evening news tonight where The presenter was Geraint was speaking and then either a floor manager or producer walked in front of the camera, I’ve tried to screen shot it off the hub on my phone but for get ITV Hub blanks out the image ?!

I've not watched the 'new' hour-long ITV Evening News before, and saw the last half hour or so for the first time tonight.
Here's a thing that seems a lot of hassle - the weather segment within the programme is branded STV Weather on the sting and Heinz sponsor bumper thing here in Scotland (ignore the slight stutter on the clip, that's just normal STV Player behaviour):

How are they doing that? Are ITN creating a separate feed of the programme for STV to play out (maybe), or is STV adding that in? The reason I ask is that the run-up to the weather seems quite free-flowing and I didn't get the impression Alex was trying to hit a timing-point.
Maybe it's really quite easy - after all, radio stations do all that split linking stuff all the time. Just seems a *tad* unnecessary to change ITV to STV in the intro - only to go back to a map with ITV on it (!).

I’m not sure calling it “STV National Weather” is any better, as surely that would suggest it is just the weather for Scotland?
“Heinz Salad Cream sponsors the UK Weather on STV” would be better in my opinion?

It's just STV being awkward. I think it's because they always introduce the ITV News as simply "Now on STV, it's time for the national news", removing any utterance of the ITV name.
(An aside - it's a bit like those competitions you see on I'm a Celebrity etc. where Ant and Dec tell you to enter on "the website" whilst itv.com/win and stv.tv/win URLs both appear on the screen... turns out stv.tv/win is mostly a collection of links redirecting you to itv.com/win. *facepalm emoji*)

The STV Weather sting hasn't shown up a few times which leads me to think it's played in by STV.
I understand why they do it, STV is their brand. They get specific sponsor stings to play with their name, so why wouldn't they use them at every opportunity?

You have to say, STV's brand-building really has proven quite effective in recent years - they show about 95% of the network ITV schedule, and most days the only thing that differs is the Scottish news, with far fewer opt-outs than BBC1 Scotland (never mind the fact the Beeb also have an entire channel for Scotland). If you look at their schedule - https://player.stv.tv/tvguide/stv - there's a grand total of two occasions in the next seven days when they opt out, tomorrow at 9pm for an Australian drama and on Friday at 7pm for their local what's on show. There's very little Scottish programming in primetime in general and they have no Scottish sport apart from in the tournaments (which they get through ITV's rights), but lots of English sport.
And yet STV seems an incredibly strong brand, presumably thanks to the requirement for network programmes to refer to "ITV and STV", and you get people on forums asking "what are STV doing?" when the answer is pretty much always "the same as ITV". It seems to have a level of recognition that you didn't even get in the golden days of the ITV regions when they would make hours and hours of local programmes and regularly opt out in primetime. Testament to the value of shoving your name wherever you can, I suppose.
