GB News - Mouseboy33 - 28-03-2022 [quote="London Lite" post_id=75108 time= user_id=953] I'm guessing both Darren Grimes and his mother were in the same house broadcasting today? GB News - James2001 - 28-03-2022 Same as most of the others- preaching right wing bile on social media. And getting caught up in a controversy over misuse of vote leave funds. GB News - London Lite - 28-03-2022 [quote=Mouseboy33 post_id=75224 time= user_id=1168] [quote="London Lite" post_id=75108 time= user_id=953] I'm guessing both Darren Grimes and his mother were in the same house broadcasting today? GB News - Mouseboy33 - 28-03-2022 So is he a regular presenter for this channel? As I dont watch opinion channels typically. Quote:In 2019, he was amongst those associated with a newly launched right-wing youth organisation called Turning Point UK (TPUK), set up by Conservative Party donor and unsuccessful Brexit Party MEP candidate George Farmer.[10] It is closely allied to Turning Point USA, a pro-Trump youth movement.[11] GB News - James2001 - 28-03-2022 Ahh, Turning Point, isn't that run by that Charlie Kirk guy who has a massive head and tiny face? All these extreme right organisations always seem to be connected... GB News - Ghost - 28-03-2022 Mouseboy33 post_id=75266 time= user_id=1168 Wrote:So is he a regular presenter for this channel? But In my opinion he lacks the UK presenter tv/radio cadence that you normally hear. Wonder if he has much broadcasting experience? GB News - Ghost - 28-03-2022 Mouseboy33 post_id=75290 time= user_id=1168 Wrote:I think his only previous experience has been as a pundit, he’s mainly been involved in politics. I’m not sure if it’s just down to inexperience, as they also have Dan Wootton, who’s no stranger to broadcasting, but his style always seems really forced when I see clips of him.Ghost post_id=75285 time= user_id=1005 Wrote:Mouseboy33 post_id=75266 time= user_id=1168 Wrote:So is he a regular presenter for this channel? GB News - KrazyKei - 28-03-2022 As much as I admire Darren Grimes' honesty about what he thinks, he is not suitable for presenting on GB News. Reason being is because his show lacks the edge needed and with GB News still technically a start up, they need more experienced heads coming in so that it gives the channel more respect. This isn't about right or left wing views, I just want GB News to present the news as it is and give food for thought. At the moment, it is doing neither. He's no different to Mercy Muroki, Inaya Folarin Iman and Michelle Dewberry where they were signed up for their ideology rather than their delivery. Out of the four, he's the best of the worst, but not broadcast ready by any means. GB News - James2001 - 28-03-2022 The whole channel is about ideology, not news. GB News - KrazyKei - 29-03-2022 There are quite a few presenters I would keep on there for their expertise and experience including Colin Brazier, Liam Halligan, Eamonn Holmes, Stephen Dixon, Alastair Stewart, Isabel Webster, Gloria De Piero and Darren McCaffrey etc. I would get rid of Michelle Dewberry, Nigel Farage, Mark Steyn, Mercy Muroki, Nana Akua and Darren Grimes. As much as I like the latter group, I'm afraid we need content where people and proper debates are involved along with delivering proper news. If anything, I would bring in live news in the working hours with the likes of Rosie Wright and Polly Middlehurst. Not all of it, there is The Briefing in the morning and afternoons, Alastair Stewart with his shows, Breakfast in all days of the week and On the Money. James - in response to a reported post overnight, I would politely remind you that making personal comments about someone's appearance and referencing people 'preaching right wing bile' is hardly appropriate for this forum. I'm sure you'd be the one of the first in the queue to (quite rightly) object to someone on the other side of the political spectrum to yourself making digs at, say, Owen Jones' appearance and referring to him 'spewing woke nonsense'. Your comments are no more acceptable than those would be. We've come down hard on people making exactly this sort of 'anti-woke' comments previously and you can't expect to circumvent the rules just because you're coming at things from the other side. (Genuine advice: You are clearly vehemently against GB News and everything you perceive it stands for yet you're - by far - one of the most frequent posters in this thread. Perhaps you should focus your attention on something which will make you happy instead, for your mental state if nothing else.) GB News - Worzel - 04-04-2022 GB News' Breakfast show is coming from Daybr... Manchester this week. You'll see what I mean when you watch this. https://youtu.be/FdMplzT89BQ |
