Agreed. They should get Nish and the team to do the Mash Report on GB News. That's real comedy.

I never saw the FNC comedy show but it doesn't sound promising even as a concept.

Mash was never that good either, it had some peak moments such as Rachel Parris's monologues, but a lot of it was dire regardless of the political slant, so I don't go for the left is better than right-wing comedy philosophy.

Considering it's being filmed away from the GBN studio and they've acquired the services of Steve N Allen, it's slightly above the usual bar GBN has.

It's hard to be below it, to be fair.

Sounds a bit like some of those wretched "comedy" shows RT tried to do, and I expect it will be about as funny as they were too.

Looks like a very small space judging from the studio website too so it will likely be a very small audience.

Oh yes, they had a UK commission called News Thing with Sam Delaney and RT America produced Redacted Tonight with Lee Camp.

Steve N Allen is already a regular on Headliners. He's also on with Julia Hartley-Brewer on TalkRADIO, so he may appear on TalkTV if her show's simulcast as part of their off peak schedule.

A lot of channels have tried to do such "comedy" shows over the years, not sure why RT is being singled out......

Well it should be obvious. RT was the only other serious "news" channel to attempt a regular comedy show with similarly low-rent comedians and small scale production values so the comparison is perfectly valid.

GB News - James2001 - 27-03-2022

Right wing comedy is usually horrendously unfunny and based on punching down, so I don't expect this to be any different. The whole thing's probably just going to be digs at minorites and "wokery".

If you are making the comparison purely on production values that could possibly be valid if the budgets are similar, but many other channels have attempted to create a show which looks at the news in a light hearted way. "This week" for example at the BBC.

James2001 Not all viewers are left wing in the world, some people are right wing and may enjoy the show. There is not a single thing wrong with that. There are numerous other comedy shows which exist which take digs at the right wing. There isn't anything wrong with that either.

I'm guessing both Darren Grimes and his mother were in the same house broadcasting today?

GB News - James2001 - 27-03-2022

Let's hope he wasn't being crafty in front of his mum.

GB News - JK1985 - 27-03-2022

Does Darren broadcast from his home? A home studio?

If that's a home studio I am impressed, could have easily fooled me.

In theory a properly lit home studio should look as good as if not better than reception desk area of GB News. As seen on Mark Styen’s show. That said I’m not sure as I think I saw some of black sides of the set on a bit of a repeat of Grimes show the other week. That said I’ve not seen any studio based guests on the few bit of his show I’ve seen.
