Although says everything about how on the pulse GB News is that when all the other broadcasters have headed 1500 miles east that GB News have headed over 4000 miles west. Not quite, Nigel Farage broadcasted live from a beach in Florida a few months back following his interview with Donald Trump. Skip along to 2:03 on this video... The head of Legatum was flagged up as having links to the Kremlin a few years ago (although he denies this). Paul Marshall and a lot of others involved are connected in various ways to the current government and before that Vote Leave. The potential/alleged Russian influence and funding with those are well reported. The links are small but the problem is that over recent years right-wing politics (of which GBNews is a part) on both sides of the Atlantic (and the wider economy of London) have been so entangled with Russian interests and money that there are connections everywhere. Its a big problem now that Putin has done what he's done. For example you only have to look at Farage on Twitter yesterday to see what a quandry he's in... the Lord Haw Haw comparisons were already being made GB News - CantGetIn - 25-02-2022 Inspector Sands post_id=70131 time=1645774494 user_id=1003 Wrote:CantGetIn post_id=70077 time= user_id=2338 Wrote:I thought GB news was owned mainly by discovery?Discovery, Dubai investment company Legatum, and investor Paul Marshall are the lead investors. The potential/alleged Russian influence and funding with those are well reported. I wasn’t aware of these links. While they are not good. If they appear to be very small links, one could also say similar links exist between the main political parties and media outlets as it’s been proven money has been taken in from questionable sources. My point being is there any media outlet that is 100% clean? I think even the guardian had some kind of dodgy link a while back. I guess the BBC could be due to it’s funding model. Seemed like a bit of reverse ferret going on! Quote: Lebedev, now Lord Lebedev, is the main Russian backer of the media - The Independent, Evening Standard and that bastion of Russian propaganda - London Live.Yes that's true, although in terms of broadcast media, London Live has an even lower audience and much less influence than GB News! GB News - James2001 - 02-03-2022 Interesting (but not hugely suprising) development https://twitter.com/nicktolhurst/status/1499058703009558533 GB News - Sweep2021 - 03-03-2022 Loving Eamonn opening the top of the hour just like when he used to open GMTV back in the day. I had flashbacks. Quality. GB News - CantGetIn - 03-03-2022 GB News getting some traction in this article. I would have the channel on for 10-20 minutes every day (generally no more because I'm not a massive fan of the format but quite like Dolan and Wootton (never thought I'd say that)). However, since the invasion, I've had Sky, BBC News, and Al Jaz on most of the time. GB News - Omnipresent - 03-03-2022 It's an old story that Christopher Chandler, who founded Legatum which invested in GB News, is alleged to have links to Russian intelligence: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2018/may/15/billionaire-christopher-chandler-denies-spy-claims Quote:A billionaire accused in parliament of having links to Moscow intelligence has said that he is not a spy, does not speak Russian and is the victim of a sustained and mysterious campaign of “innuendo.” GB News - news727 - 04-03-2022 johnnyboy post_id=71378 time= user_id=925 Wrote:I would love to know how GB News's viewing figures have fared since the invasion of Ukraine. Wrong camera angles, no sound on the news with Polly, back to Headliners to a 2nd attempt at the news to get what sounded like a live feed into the gallery with loads of static noise “what the hell is that” also being heard by a really panicked producer. GB News - Jon - 08-03-2022 James2001 post_id=71328 time= user_id=956 Wrote:Interesting (but not hugely suprising) developmentWhat’s interesting is when it comes to opinion content, coverage of the culture wars issues and a kind of ‘Trump was better than Biden’ attitude it seems to have the same agenda as RT. Views RT’s George Galloway also seems to share these days on his YouTube backed show RT show. Which I’m surprised has escaped any ban. Mark Steyn’s show is interesting at the moment, he is actually quite entertaining to watch. But he constantly talks about how useless the western leaders are at the moment whilst not offering any alternative suggestions, with criticism of Russia very much at the back of the agenda. I’ve also noticed unlike Farage who at least has people he disagrees with him on, Steyn only seems to have people on he broadly agrees with. |
