GB News - TMD_24 - 25-01-2022 Here's the design preview for Real Britain coming this Saturday. GB News - Jon - 25-01-2022 London Lite post_id=64868 time= user_id=953 Wrote:Tonia Buxton may not be on Saturday mornings anymore, but she turned up on Farage this evening, presumably still under contract.Or she was as good as any other anti-lockdown, anti-vax guest, they could have got to fill the slot. GB News - BBI45 - 30-01-2022 Now, I try to just let GB News get on with whatever they want to do, and I don't tune in because the content doesn't appeal to me. However, this popped up on my Twitter feed and I can't really ignore this. https://twitter.com/WritesBright/status/1487727272975126528?t=jEOpiDrdVWxZUFm6IzCvUg&s=19 I have nothing against them talking about the anniversary of Churchill's funeral. 57 years is a somewhat odd anniversary, but it seems like something that would appeal to the GBN audience, so I don't blame them for covering it. But their chosen interviewee is... a Winston Churchill inpersonator. Say what you want about Churchill and some of his more controversial views, but he led the country through one of its toughest periods. Inviting an inpersonator on just comes across as a bit tasteless to me. Surely they would have been better inviting on a historian? GB News - watchingtv - 30-01-2022 A good look around the newsroom https://twitter.com/MitchellCMM/status/1487732124870492164?s=20&t=UsgDnCOYVmNsg_Om2qOM-A GB News - Michael - 30-01-2022 BBI45 post_id=65865 time= user_id=1008 Wrote:Surely they would have been better inviting on a historian? They probably did. But no historian worth their salt would be seen dead on GB News, or more likely would have mentioned Churchill's less salubrious sides (like sending soldiers to help quell striking miners in the Rhondda for example) which wouldn't have suited the agenda of the occasion. So it seems they had to make do with this glorified cosplayer instead. GB News - James2001 - 30-01-2022 They could have mentioned that he was an early advocate of a united Europe too, which would make their heads explode. GB News - cityprod - 30-01-2022 The weather ticker on GB News seems to be a bit random. In what I've seen so far, the choice of locations displayed seems random, and I've not seen any locations west of Bristol. I'd understand it if it was in Alphabetical order, but they displayed Liverpool before Leicester., and like, right before. GB News - Worzel - 31-01-2022 Natasha Kaplinksy was on GB News yesterday as a guest. https://youtu.be/cr0odarx09Q GB News - Luc - 05-02-2022 Surprised this hasn’t been picked up in here by the channel’s devoted fans! What’s in that slot now then? https://twitter.com/colinbraziergbn/status/1487581055142055943?s=21 GB News - mokked - 05-02-2022 I really did not know what to expect from GBN when it first launched. There was a lot of hype both good and bad. The launch was shaky and tech issues out people off. For me the news should be about the news. Not having bulletins and proper schedule was a problem but most issues have been ironed out since. They seem to be going from strength to strength and it looks and feels like a more professional organisation now. Whatever your political leaning (not for discussion I know) I do truly feel like the channel now has a bit of something for everyone . Like everything it will continue to evolve and people will either love or hate it not between. Whatever happens, whoever presents as long as Ofcom is complidled with and they don't do something outrageous they should prosper GB News - mark - 05-02-2022 Luc post_id=67086 time= user_id=1303 Wrote:Surprised this hasn’t been picked up in here by the channel’s devoted fans! What’s in that slot now then?I may have misunderstood the question, but I think he's just saying that one particular monologue feature is being mothballed - not the whole show. I caught the end of the Farage show on Thursday (I think) from Blackpool and it ended with a song from a local singer. I never ever thought I'd see that on a news channel! I'm not quite sure if you're disagreeing with me or just adding to what I said. Just to summarise my views, I can respect them for trying new things. A local singer at the end of a show done on location is a nice idea. However, inviting an impersonator to talk about the anniversary of a funeral just comes across as a bit disrespectful in my opinion. I am not a GB News hater by any stretch of the imagination. I admire their willingness to experiment with different ideas and formats - they'll get a lot right but they'll also get a lot wrong. Using a Winston Churchill impersonator was a little KYTV. GB News - Newsdog - 05-02-2022 Since it started last year the channel has really improved and a better schedule and and the news updates has really helped. However it is still really a ‘views’ channel rather than news. While I agree with free speech do I really need a the same pub landlord on with Dan Wootton most nights trying to dress up views as news: Shouldn’t be classed as a news channel . |
