On The Great British Breakfast, I noticed they had two newspaper reviewers at the Breakfast Bar, a test for next week's Eamonn fest perhaps? Or simply social distancing measures? London reporter Alice Porter was reporting from home with I suspect was a broadcast quality camera instead of a low res webcam when she'd be in the studio.

I noticed 10-12 was called the Great British Debate presented by Nana Akua from the Breakfast Bar. Paula/Polly Middlehurst came on at 11.50ish to interview someone about the Maxwell verdict.
Yet when I flicked across last night, it was from the soft area called GB News Live with three guests on the sofas with Andrew Doyle.

The Great British debate it just a segment on Nana’s normal show, and as she was presenting I’m assuming they just carried it over.

The laziness with the new Breakfast name is really disappointing. I do wonder whether the impending radio launch has anything to do with it, as 'XX Breakfast' is almost universal.
However, TV-wise, we now have three (including Sky's weekend shows) morning shows all called Breakfast. The lack of creativity is really underwhelming, and i'm looking at Sky at the same time.
It's not even like they have to be entirely revolutionary, but just look outside of the UK for some inspiration. I still think when Kay Burley launched it should have retained 'Sunrise', being called 'Kay Burley at Sunrise' rather than the very Y2K sounding 'Kay Burley@Breakfast'.
But GB News have an array of names they could have explored simply from looking abroad. I was never a fan of 'The Great British Breakfast' purely because it sounded amateur to me, almost like a GBBO fry-up spin-off.

I think the point is ‘Breakfast’ isn’t really the brand, the brand is ‘Eamonn and Isabel’. ‘Breakfast’ is just the most direct of describing the time of day it’s on.

They did work together for years on Sky and seemed to get on well there so there's no reason why it shouldn't be the case here. The problem was though that they didn't exactly set ratings alight on Sunrise so I can't see why it would be any different here.
Also the logo feels like you've stepped back in time 20 years. For all the talk from GB News about how different it is from anything that's ever come before, this very much has the feel of GMTV in the early Noughties.
