Anne Diamond to join the station to present with Stephen Dixon on weekend breakfast. Also tells us more about GB news radio.

Anne Diamond and Stephen Dixon were a good partnership on Sky News Breakfast, where Anne was a paper reviewer. This is a good shout, IMO.

A both of them know a thing or two about early morning broadcasting!

This absolutely looks like a pivot towards radio-focused broadcasting.

What I take out of this is that god awful shows like the 9.30-noon slot continue along with the opinionated shows. (Dewberry, Wootton, Headliners).

Moving Brazier to what would be considered the radio 'drivetime' slot seems to be a sensible move and Alex Phillips in the afternoons is going for what is considered a female friendly slot.

Despite all that, it looks like a more credible daytime schedule with Eamonn, Gloria De Piero, On the Money and Brazier. It's just the mid morning and early afternoon which isn't to my taste.

I'm sorry to awkwardly interrupt the flow of the conversation, but we have a new update on ratings. This one is rather unusual, as in, every single position is held by a primetime program.

Highest-rated: Farage, 8 Dec., with 83,100 viewers.
15th place-holder: Mark Steyn, 10 Dec., with just 29,200.

Breakdown by programmes:
- Farage (all episodes)
- Dan Wootton Tonight (all episodes but Thursday's)
- Mark Dolan Tonight (all episodes but Saturday's)
- Headliners (Monday-Wednesday)
- Brazier, Mark Steyn, Political Correction (all once each)

Pretty certain this is just down to a general drop in news viewing during Christmas times, is it?

I now return you to the ongoing conversation about new changes next month already in progress.

And I'd like to begin with a new development: The Briefing AM will be cancelled as part of the changes.

Also, here's why simulcast news TV on radio does not work (excl. breaking news).

Really surprised that they haven't moved Rosie Wright to weekend breakfast - she's been brilliant with Simon and breakfast has been really good to watch, and I'm sure she'd be able to re-emulate that chemistry alongside Stephen Dixon. Anne Diamond will be interesting though.

A friend told me today that GB News are looking for a new political correspondent? Is Harwood off considering he's lost his 9am show?

Can't find anything to suggest he is leaving GB News, not sure where he would go either. Order order certainly didn't seem on friendly terms with him after he left, judging by an article the other day!

Tested positive for the Coronavirus.

GB News - London Lite - 21-12-2021

I'm guessing the extra edition of Alistair Stewart and Friends is an hour long on Friday evenings at 8pm, which allows Mark Dolan to do 9-11 with Headliners which is going 7 nights a week at 11pm.

Who’s presenting The People’s Question Time?

I think if it’s political they should aim for someone who has been in politics… Robert Kilroy-Silk? ?
I suspect though we are likely to see someone such as Tom Harwood or Nana Akua being shunted about.

That might be in relation to the ad on Twitter looking for more people to join the politics team rather than TH leaving. Also I think people are missing the bit where it says Anne Diamond is a guest host, so presumably she'll 'launch' that show. By the looks of it the breakfast viewing figures are shocking so the pair currently hosting would have been moved anyway.

Also on a presentation note they still can't quite make up their mind what to do with the straps. Sometimes its the subject they're talking about, sometimes it's the name of the presenter, then other times the name of the guest, then the name of the show, then the...you get my point.

I get your point with the Brazier slot but there are other elements which definitely seem much more made for TV - such as moving Alex Phillips to the 2pm slot and keeping the rest of the schedule (albeit with some fairly large exceptions) roughly as it is.

The biggest problem with the lower third graphics is the lack of ability to update the second line of white text on black background without clearing the graphics off screen completely and putting them back on again (ie. They can't cycle various lines of text very easily). It's strange because when they put a name caption up it neatly transitions to that OK. I'm guessing their graphics system hasn't been configured or set up properly.
