GB News - Solari - 13-12-2021 London Lite post_id=58339 time= user_id=953 Wrote:Simon McCoy is still on GB News, he was on this morning with Rosie Wright. Presumably he's leaving in the next fortnight? The news articles all stated that he would leave 'in the new year' so I assume he will indeed be staying on throughout the next fortnight at least. GB News - TVViewer256 - 13-12-2021 Solari post_id=58382 time= user_id=1734 Wrote:Wouldn't be surprised if he got a proper goodbye, he seems to be having fun on the Breakfast show at the moment (and I know some disagree but to me it looks like he’s enjoyed it from all the way back in June with Alex despite the technical issues) so I think it’s a very amicable exit (unlike Andrew Neil’s).London Lite post_id=58339 time= user_id=953 Wrote:Simon McCoy is still on GB News, he was on this morning with Rosie Wright. GB News - Ghost - 13-12-2021 Looking at the Christmas schedule, they appear to be live at the TOTH for 20 minutes at most hours, as well as live blocks at 6-9am, 12-2pm, and 6-8pm. The only branded slots are Great British Breakfast and Farage, with the rest being 'GB News Live'. Everything else is pre-recorded. GB News - London Lite - 14-12-2021 I thought they might have done a late night 11-12 slot as the papers are published on Boxing Day. Even Sky does the Press Preview on Christmas Day. There's also a "GB News Live" slot from 10pm to midnight, starting Christmas Day. Farage is among the roster of pre-records. I don't quite like the structure of 20 minutes live then 40 minutes of non-live content. Couldn't they just insert it in every so-and-so minutes during the pre-records (as in, having the host "toss in" to the live bulletin)? Then there's also a (albeit very low) possibility of big breaking news. Remember last year, when we got the agreement of Brexit trade deal on Christmas Eve, and then... the Nashville explosion the next day? Let me go off-topic here a little bit to bring back the same thing... again. https://twitter.com/afneil/status/1470461541552209928 GB News - CantGetIn - 14-12-2021 Mr A.N, doesn’t watch GB news? Ok….. Not sure I believe that. It should be noted he left Sky not long after it launched…… I think in different circumstances but not sure. We will never know the full story of what happened at GBN. My own personal opinion is that AN bottled it when he thought the channel wasn’t going to succeed and sought to abandon a sinking ship. Alas perhaps a bit too soon because the channel has improved a lot since then. A long way to go but it’s getting better. Better than I thought it would do in the early days when the channel seemed to be chaos. I don’t think it’s wise to blacklist the channel. As A.N and M.K have done. But if A.N can appear again on the BBC I am sure he can swallow his pride and appear one day on GBN again if it makes it! GB News - Newshound47 - 14-12-2021 https://twitter.com/GBNEWS/status/1470713266775146496 GB News - TMD_24 - 14-12-2021 Gosh have to say that's one of the most atrocious appointments yet though frankly not surprised, the channel was made for him. Can't imagine how much potential COVID disinformation he could spread on his shows. GB News - London Lite - 14-12-2021 It's been rumoured that Grimes was sniffing around for a job since the channel was proposed. He was given contributor gigs, but it seems with Andrew Neil and John McAndrew out, they're going for more presenters who wear their politics on their sleeve. GB News - Scrotnig - 14-12-2021 Going to be honest I'm not a big fan of Darren Grimes. I hope the appointment works out for both of them though. As always, I'll keep an open mind and give his shows a try. GB News - DavidWhitfield - 14-12-2021 It does seem rather a come down from respected former-BBC folks like Andrew Neil and Simon McCoy! I suppose they can't fill every slot with the Eamonn Holmeses of the world, though, otherwise they'd sharp feel it in their pocket. GB News - news727 - 14-12-2021 BREAKING: There's new rating scorecard out for the week of 29 November-5 December. This time, Farage's interview with Donald Trump (Wednesday) saw a rating of 183,000 at 7pm - although this reported the viewership reaching as many as 208,500. Ratings for two other regular episodes of Farage, however, is only one-half to a third of that. Here's all other programs that did make the list.
Programs that didn't make the list attract less than 28,600. None of the episodes featured in the list was broadcast on Saturday, while the two competitors have every day of the week covered on their lists. At the same time as Farage interview was broadcast, BBC's Outside Source got 228,600, ranking #8 out of 15 for that channel. Sky do not have a showing on their top 15 in the slot. GB News - Matrix - 14-12-2021 Good god, they've actually gone for Grimes. I have to say, as a producer, given his little outburst with David Starkey on his self-produced YouTube thing, it would make me very nervous in managing that on air. God knows what he'll blurt out. Again, another new show and I'm not really sure it adds much from a pres perspective. Obviously have to wait and see what he does but I'm guessing we're not looking at anything other than more of the PowerPoint style visuals and a locked off head shot behind a desk. We'll see.
