GB News - Brekkie - 10-12-2021

Wonder if the budget will stretch to a Christmas tree.

Kermode is a nasty bit of work.

GB News - Jack - 11-12-2021

Looks like GB News Radio is coming late Jan.

Quote: Holmes and Webster will also become the face of GB News Radio, a new DAB station being launched at the end of January.

GB News - Jon - 11-12-2021

I think GB News have done this the wrong way round, instead of ‘Eamonn Holmes joins GB News’ it’s ‘presenter leaves GB News’, even though the latter is much lower profile. They probably should have announced McCoy leaving before hand.

Kermode is a nasty bit of work.

If he doesn’t want to appear it is up to him. I just don’t see the need to broadcast it on Twitter in such a fashion. Several other main contributors such as John Curtis have appeared on GB news without issue.

Just say “no thank you” Mr Kermode.

I am enjoying the breakfast show with familiar faces from the old Sky days.

Wonder if the Guardian will do a report on the exodus from Sky News?

Other than Boulton, who they did report on, none of the presenters who have left Sky News in recent months have a particularly high profile in the wider public (unlike McCoy).

Because we know GB News, their presenters and supporters have always been curteous to other media outlets and the people who work for them... right?

A regular GB News contributor telling a member of BBC staff where to go then tweeting about it strikes me as exactly the sort of thing which would get GB News fans cheering for "sticking it up to the biased leftie MSM" or similar.

Even if true, that's *absolutely no excuse* for Kermode's response to an ordinary employee trying to do their job.

Politely decline. That's all it takes.

GB News - Scrotnig - 11-12-2021

Anyway...how awesome to see The Great Stephen Dixon back with Isabel Webster this morning.
Didn't expect him quite so soon, nice surprise.
Suddenly the breakfast programme - which has sorely lacked identity and character since they started - has it in spades.
Holmes arriving next year will only strengthen this further.

Good moves on the part of GB News I have to say.

GB News - all new Phil - 11-12-2021

Makes you wonder who else they have approached. Kay Burley seems to obvious one but I suspect, even though people claim the opposite, that it’s not in line with her own politics.

They do seem to be targeting those who have delivered the best ratings at Sky over the past few years. It’s interesting that the signings they’ve made are people who must believe in the channel and where it’s going - I wonder how they’re convincing them to jump? I suspect the channel is more respected in the industry than we think.

Also interesting how few BBC employees are making the move.

Money, fundamentally. And not really.

Yes I agree totally, money is the draw here. Also other than Colin Brazier I would say all the presenters that have moved over were more back up presenters or weekenders. The thought of fronting their own programmes seems to be a draw too.

I watched 15 or so minutes of it this morning. First time anything I've dipped into on there has felt like a proper TV show

GB News - Cassia Tuna - 11-12-2021

Quote:Newsreader Simon McCoy is leaving his role at GB News for "personal reasons", a spokesperson for the channel has said.

The veteran broadcaster, 60, announced his move to GB News in March after 17 years at the BBC.

In a statement made at the time, GB News described McCoy as "one of Britain's best loved and most charismatic journalists".
