GB News - London Lite - 06-12-2021 The amount of noise on the fixed camera during the Breakfast programme today was the worst I've seen in months this morning. GB News - soupie - 06-12-2021 I think news channels have traditionally done quite well over public holidays, believe it or not GB News - Brekkie - 06-12-2021 There would be no harm though in putting the "Closed" sign up for the day and letting the staff have the day off. Indeed would be a nice little publicity stunt for GB News and I suspect play into their inevitable narrative of protecting the sanctity of Christmas. Don't some of the shopping channels close on Christmas Day? GB News - Matrix - 06-12-2021 It will be interesting to see how GB News handle Christmas from a pres point of view. Regular readers will note that I've been less than impressed with their current package (if we can call it that) but the simple colour design might actually work nicely, if they can be bothered. There again, it'll most likely end up being a sermon about Christmas being cancelled with a graphic of Farage dressed as Santa (you can tell I'm optimistic...) It might be because people are generally focusing on other things around the house, and just want something on in the background. GB News - TVViewer256 - 06-12-2021 I would say they could easily do pre-recs interspaced with live news bulletins over Christmas but given that they only have one studio it’s difficult to see how they’d record them. They can probably get away with just two shifts - one in the morning, one in the early evening, with largely repeats for the rest of the day. It's got a lot more structure since they shortened the show to an hour and brought in the panel format, but I'm sorry, I still don't rate her as a presenter and her delivery is grating. GB News - TVViewer256 - 06-12-2021 It looks like - other than Farage - that a large portion of viewing figures are just who happens to be watching at the time. Sort of defeats the whole appointment-to-view idea but this could be easily solved by promoting the shows and their individual personalities more. GB News - London Lite - 07-12-2021 Brekkie post_id=57223 time= user_id=976 Wrote:Don't some of the shopping channels close on Christmas Day? I remember QVC used to have a loop of non-shopping content from Christmas Eve afternoon until midnight at the end of Christmas Day, then go live again until 2am. I believe they now schedule pre-recorded shopping hours on Christmas Day instead and send viewers to the website or the automated ordering line to give their call centre staff a day off. It's become a very watchable hour, with a good selection of panellists with different opinions. I can see why it appears to be easily beating Mark Austin/Climate Show on Sky News. It would be a great format for Stephen Dixon. Austin is probably down because the 6pm slot is the main BBC One and ITV News hour to which their target audience are likely to watch over an opinion show. |
