Trailer for the interview. It is apparently not live.

Preferably shown on-screen in this style.

If they promote it well, it should get good numbers. They probably got a better interview with it being recorded, as you can condense the best into the slot.

They did well with Rishi Sunak but don't think they have had any real big interviews since. Perhaps they need to do more of these, as it will generate an audience which may stay on to watch further?

GB News - James2001 - 30-11-2021

I don't think they'd risk it being live with the sort of things he comes out with. Open his mouth about voting machine companies and they could be sued out of existance.

Dear Lord, I’ve just seen that Trump promo.

Even more PowerPoint vibes to it. More fundamentally, it just comes across that there’s absolutely no - no - design language to the channel.

Leaving aside the obvious point that - of course - this is the one interview Farage would land, it just feels (and looks) a bit student-y project.

Branding guidelines anyone?

GB News - Rory N - 30-11-2021

The branding just gets worse.

GB News - all new Phil - 30-11-2021

I keep seeing comments about their brand guidelines. I mean I know it’s not exactly on trend to be positive about them but one thing they certainly seem to me to be good at it maintaining their branding and look. Certainly more consistent than others ? BBC ? I’m not entirely sure what peoples issue with this is?

GB News - Media Box - 30-11-2021

Oh Jeez! Is it safe to open my eyes yet?

This all looks terrible Confusedhock:

Quite.

The BBC have just had one of the messiest corporate rebrands ever, which is fine apparently, but if GB News post one rogue graphic, it’s the end of the world…

I’ve no interest in watching GB News, but am vaguely interested in all the behind the scenes stuff, the rebrands, etc and quite honestly I find comments like ‘oh my god it looks awful’ or ‘oh god looks like it was done in PowerPoint’ particularly pointless.

Can we have a GB News thread for rational presentation discussion, and a separate thread for general whinging?

Hardly - the BBC approach to this rebrand has been much criticised on these forums by many.

GB News - swaggyboi128 - 01-12-2021

I just saw a trail for Farage... Do they ever put that URL away? Looks out-of-place in the bottom-right floating...

I mean, it does look like PowerPoint. It’s a forum to discuss design and, to me, it looks rank amateur.

Struggling to see what’s irrational about those points but I’ll wait…

Turns out, due to the exclusive Trump interview, Farage's show will air for two hours from Florida. Don't know how much of it is the interview.

Brazier will have tonight off.

Some things to watch out for:
  • How much is the post-interview analysis dominating the subsequent nighttime and tomorrow's programming?
  • Will there be reaction from Fox and Sky Australia (let's just say, two of the world's most well-known, Trump-friendly outlets)?
  • Could there be eyebrow-rising material that gets Ofcom's goat?*
  • Could Sky and BBC's ratings crash once the interview starts?**

*Yes. Possibly a lot. We don't know the nature of it yet.
**Maybe not. If this is what's to come...

Dreadful studio picture quality this morning. It's like they're behind a gauze screen, with added noise.

No problem with overlaid graphics or non studio content.
