If the news of TalkTV's launch didn't exist, I wouldn't bet more than a dime that the change happened voluntarily.
Depends what you mean by 'forced'.

The regulator couldn't force them.

They said quite early on that they did plan to introduce them, it just took a while. Some presenters such as Michelle Dewberry even ran polls on their Twitter accounts asking if this was what people wanted.

I don't think Murdoch's plans make much differnce, it's just a reaction to feedback.
Perhaps they also realised that a news channel does need news bulletins otherwise people will tune into the BBC or Sky to get them and may well stay there.

Saying all that, I doubt consistency or lack of it has anything to do with whether they were 'forced' into it or not. They just haven't defined a presentation style for them fully enough as yet.

A parody opinion news presenter portrayed by Charlie Brooker.

I think he also used to present strands on the Channel Four Daily. Wondered where he’d been for 30 years

news727 post_id=53138 time= user_id=1412 Wrote:BREAKING: New GB News ratings coming in. This time is 25-31 Oct.

Here's the panorama of what you need to know:
The most watched broadcast ("Farage", Wednesday 27 Oct.) attracted 85,800, an uptick from the previous week

For contextual reasons, the least-watched show on Sky News was 25 Oct. episode of Press Preview - and it got a whopping 120,900 (BBC News ratings not available as of this writing)

How the ratings were spread out: Farage occupies 4 positions, Dan Wootton 4, Mark Dolan 2, Dewbs & Co 2; To the Point, Afternoon Agenda and Political Correction rounds out the list
Worth noting that 12 out of GB News' top 15 are shows starting between 6-9pm. Sky have none of their evening programmes in their top 15 until the 10.30pm paper reviews.

Be interesting to see Sky's 6-10pm ratings. Only seen the odd mention of the Climate show getting as low as 18k.

Mark Dolan mentioned that he is coming from a new set. I wonder if that is the “hotel reception area” Smile

It will be - there’s nowhere else it could be.

I’m surprised Talk TV didn’t get Eamon as They would have been more likely to also be able to offer Ruth work as well.

Isn't it safe to assume that Ruth will remain at ITV doing Loose Women? She'll just now also appear on that during the summer holidays instead of fronting any of This Morning?

Polly Middlehurst co-anchoring the Great British Breakfast this morning - first time she’s anchored a show (as opposed to news reading) on GB News, I think.

GB News - radiolistener - 13-11-2021

So where will Eamonn go in the schedule?

The timeslot that he used to helm on Sky News. I'd say this is correct until a statement contracting this is released.

Yes I think it is.

Great to see her doing that today, she was one of my favourite Sky News newsreaders.

A subtle confirmation or just playing fun with the story?
