Possibly anywhere but here. GB News - Robbie1123 - 10-11-2021 news727 post_id=52888 time= user_id=1412 Wrote:sidebar from Dan Wootton's show last night. I'm sorry but the red color palette just absolutely reminds me of "Talking Points Memo" over on Fox News' O'Reilly Factor. I thought the same thing, I had actually expected an over the shoulder graphic from the start on the monologue parts of the evening shows, I think when the presenter is just addressing the audience directly for 5-10 mins adding some images or additional text just gives it a bit more energy. I thought it worked particularly well when Dan is sitting in front of the screen in the old Andrew zone. The animated background works well with the side bar. It is a very American style but they haven’t got the style down. Whatever one thinks of the Fox News editorial content I do like the graphic presentation and how slick all the screen furniture bolts together. Edid: Other little Fox things I have noticed are the ‘No Spin, No Bias, No Censorship’ tag on Dan’s show. O'Reilly was the ‘No Spin Zone’ and Brazier has a section called the ‘Brazier Angle’ the ‘ Ingraham Angle’ is a show name on Fox. Those few that watch still watch but it's not generating the headlines and comments, either positive or negative, that it was a few months ago. No body's talking about it, nobody's watching it, I nobody's sharing it, it's not influencing the news agenda. That’s it’s biggest issue. I can’t remember that last time I saw it mentioned on the Twitter lists I follow. Fox News is mentioned more. Farrage used to be very newsworthy yet he doesn’t seem to generate headlines either. I would have thought GB news would relish him getting headlines and people having Twitter wars over him but even that is not really happening. GB News - Scrotnig - 11-11-2021 I have to say Patrick and Merci's lead into the live 2 minute silence at 11am was not good.Possibly not entirely their fault. You could hear the cannons go off live on air, the shot then cuts to lowering of flags at the war memorial in Stockport. At that point they should have quickly shut up but it was waffle waffle bluster for far too long like they didn't know what to say or when to stop saying it. I suspect they were planning to talk right up to the stroke of 11am but in practice that's not how these public remembrance silences go and if you're going to show one live then shut up once it all starts. When it comes to remembrance silences and suchlike, when in doubt, shut up! GB News - Scrotnig - 11-11-2021 On the positive side....I have been watching Headliners this week, and at first I didn't like it, possibly in part because I quite like Wootton's show and it felt a bit of a comedown to not have it on at that time like normal. However after three shows I'm starting to like it a bit more and it's perfectly watchable, if unremarkable. I also quite like the rather different tune used for its 'stings', quite different to the normal GB News variations. They do seem to use comedians a lot on GB News generally, I know in one of the trailers for Free Speech Nation, Andrew Doyle (himself a comedian) jokes that his panel consists of comedians because "they work for less"....I do wonder if that's actually true here! GB News - Scrotnig - 11-11-2021 While I'm in GB News mood, and also Pedantic mood...I like the new news bulletins, long overdue, but the OCD in me wishes they could be consistent. Sometimes, the show starts, and the presenter does a 'coming up' before going to the bulletin (this is my personal preference) Other times, the bulletin just comes on and the show starts afterwards. Sometimes the presenter announces who the newsreader is, sometimes the newsreader does, sometimes both do, and sometimes neither do! And then sometimes it's announced as "The News" and other times "The News Headlines". News headlines to me are what ITN read out during "the bongs" and 'the news' is after that. Either way though just stick with one or the other. The above is all really minor stuff that doesn't really matter, but I long for it to be consistent! GB News - Fluffy Bunny Feet - 11-11-2021 news727 post_id=52888 time= user_id=1412 Wrote:We've got the second show done in this style scheduled for tomorrow. Well two things strike me about these. 1. Farage should know it's rude to point. And having some smiling, dodgy toothed 'Kitchener' pose is deliberatly provocative. By going to Sunderland he probably feels safe after the Brexit vote. But more importantly: 2. Dan Wootton's one sided, plus swipe at other media organizations is unprofessional at best and wild claims of facts and about the head of the NHS may get him into bother with the regulator. From a legal point of view you just cannot simply accuse people of not telling the truth. It does beg the question whether he actually believes and does GBN worry about the consequences. I tried watching Nigel Farage last night from the start but yet again immigrants was his issue. It's so repetitive I gave up after ten minutes - hardly a way to get new audiences. In short both 'stars' do not display any balance which is a basic broadcasting requirement. GB News - derek500j - 11-11-2021 To be fair to Wootton, Amanda Pritchard's use of statistics has been widely ridiculed. Even the always excellent Ed Conway devoted one of his Twitter threads to it. GB News - Gibsy - 11-11-2021 Eamonn Holmes to join…you couldn’t make this up. GB News - TVViewer256 - 11-11-2021 BREAKING: Unconfirmed (and I emphasise unconfirmed) reports that seem to suggest Eamonn’s joining GB News. Surprised it took this long to be honest (if it’s true). EDIT: Beaten to it. Source is The Mirror. Gibsy post_id=53099 time= user_id=854 Wrote:Eamonn Holmes to join…you couldn’t make this up. Wonder which slot he’ll do. If it’s a weekday one the only one I can really see him taking is Dewbs’s one, but then where would that leave her? Of course, it could be weekends like Alastair. GB News - London Lite - 11-11-2021 Dewbs is still the weakest link in the evening schedule, her delivery still isn't great. Holmes in the 6-7pm slot would still be able to cover the human stories Dewbs does on her show, but a lot more professional in the delivery. However, I think they'll offer him a weekend show, either the current Saturday Morning UK or they'll shave some of Alistair Stewart's show to fit in Eamonn. GB News - Jon - 11-11-2021 Yet, another former talkRADIO drive time host on the channel! I can see him doing a similar shot to that a drive time show though, 5-7pm might be a good fit for him. Edit: Just read the article suggests he’s to leave This Morning, so they might use him in daytime or breakfast. GB News - Brekkie - 11-11-2021 Not surprised - just disappointed.
