GB News - London Lite - 09-11-2021 I thought losing an hour of Wootton would have been more beneficial to extend Saint Nige's show until 9pm rather than adding another comedy show on weeknights at the other end of the schedule. The Brazier programme is a left over from the Andrew Neil era and clearly it isn't working. GB News - Scrotnig - 09-11-2021 I thought Wootton's show was not as good as normal today, far too much shouting and arguing going on and it got very wearing. Sounded very staged, like people had been brief on what they were to get shouty about. I preferred Tonight as a three hour show. I wonder why it's been cut, since Mark Dolan's weekend show looks to still be three hours. Did Wotton insist on it? Also he made a remark at the start of the show saying how grateful he was for everyone's support and that he'd "never forget it". Is it just me or is that the sort of comment someone who is leaving might say? GB News - London Lite - 09-11-2021 Presentation wise, that's the best use of the hotel reception set since it launched on The Headliners. Now why can't The Great British Breakfast have a lot more oomph in than sticking to two fixed camera shots with a generic backdrop? GB News - Jon - 09-11-2021 London Lite post_id=52653 time= user_id=953 Wrote:Presentation wise, that's the best use of the hotel reception set since it launched on The Headliners.I thought it looked pretty bad to be honest. The cheap table awkwardly placed showed the limitations of the desk and half the backdrop behind the presenter was a black wall. On the other hand, at least they tried something more interesting with the screens by placing tweets and papers on them etc. I think using the breakfast bar area would have looked better for this though. Only saw the first 20 minutes or so, but an extra hour of people disagreeing with each other on Tonight Live would have been better Television than this half hour of people agreeing. GB News - JayCasey - 10-11-2021 I watched "The Headliners" tonight for the first time. I gave it the full hour, and here's my thoughts. Technical gremlins remain, which I think was a result of a botched interview leading into the hour where the guest and presenter couldn't hear each other (and neither could the viewers - almost as if the PFL was airing instead of the mix). I say that because sound issues - although not muting - revolving around badly mixed mic levels continued into the 11pm hour. About five-to-seven minutes in, the screens behind the set went into chaos mode and eventually went dark. Because of that gremlin, we got three episodes of the pre-recorded weather in the hour as opposed to the normal two!!! From a personal note... I was willing to give the channel six-to-nine months to find its feet, sort its tech, sort its staff. Clearly it's not going to happen. GB News - Inspector Sands - 10-11-2021 Thing is that the issues might be few these days but the buzz about GB News has long gone. Those few that watch still watch but it's not generating the headlines and comments, either positive or negative, that it was a few months ago. No body's talking about it, nobody's watching it, I nobody's sharing it, it's not influencing the news agenda. Everyone seems to have moved on and it's just another little watched channel chuntering away with few people watching. They need a 'growing concrete' moment GB News - James2001 - 10-11-2021 It's basically the same few topics and the same few guests on a loop, people have got bored. There's nothing new to either watch or discuss. GB News - London Lite - 10-11-2021 That's the problem with these outlets, they preach to the converted. To balance it out, I find The New European newspaper is basically the same, preach to the converted, give them what they want to hear and not what they should be hearing. On Dan Wootton Tonight, Dewbs, To The Point etc I'd 100% agree - they need to broaden the topics and guest range, maybe ask the anchors to try to be more balanced. However, shows such as Brazier and The Briefing Lunchtime have a good range in my opinion, Brazier certainly covers more world news and some niche stories. GB News - LiamFitz28 - 10-11-2021 What's happened to Gloria Di Piero on a Friday? I seen a tweet saying she had been 'sacked', but I think that's from a GB News fan account that isn't official... I think both Simon & Alex are only going 4 days now too. GB News - TVViewer256 - 10-11-2021 LiamFitz28 post_id=52872 time= user_id=1334 Wrote:What's happened to Gloria Di Piero on a Friday? If the account in question is the one I believe it is, just ignore it: it constantly spews lies that it just feels like posting, it seems. GB News - news727 - 10-11-2021 We've got the second show done in this style scheduled for tomorrow. https://twitter.com/Nigel_Farage/status/1458428252956020740?s=19 ICYMI, sidebar from Dan Wootton's show last night. I'm sorry but the red color palette just absolutely reminds me of "Talking Points Memo" over on Fox News' O'Reilly Factor. https://twitter.com/GBNEWS/status/1458183590244757510?s=19 Then again, (off-topic but) the show's name change was inspired by a similar move from CNN earlier this year, so... Wonder where he is, might go and have a look, or more likely just ride past on the bus. |
