GB News - Matrix - 27-10-2021 Luc post_id=50867 time= user_id=1303 Wrote:Any recent viewing figures? I see from Twitter they're lower than ever but didn't see any elaboration. It may be time to ramp up the anti...wokeness/NHS/trans rights/vaccine/COVID restriction rhetoric. I think that's the issue at the heart of this. There are a series of 'drum beating' issues, like you say, but actually very little beyond that. Coupled with the distinctly flat and powerpoint esk presentation and I'm struggling to see what the cut through is. It may be time to ramp up the anti...wokeness/NHS/trans rights/vaccine/COVID restriction rhetoric. That could be easily resolved by having a lower third strap with the bulletin reader's name, which I'm surprised they don't do. GB News - JK1985 - 27-10-2021 I used to dip in and out of GB News, usually to see which poor person would be torn to bits by Dan Wootton, however I have become bored with the channel. I have not watched any of their programming in recent weeks. With regards to their political slant and stance, I am not going to speak about that on here, as this is about presentation - I have not been a fan of their look, and the so called improvements are pathetic in my opinion, as these should have been in place from the launch day. Never launch with an inferior product. So that is it for me with GB News - I am looking forward to reading on here how the channel does, but I doubt I will be back watching. I see from Twitter they're lower than ever but didn't see any elaboration. Here's just what you need. Among the top fifteen programs from each news channel: The most-watched GB News show got 79,700. The least-watched Sky News show got 111,655. The least-watched BBC News show got 168,200. That speaks volumes in itself. The breaking story of death of Sir David Amess (that was on a Friday) does not change the situation at all. In fact, none of GBN's programs on that day were on the list (meaning they were under 27,300 viewers across the board. I'd imagine the moment it broke, roughly 13:45, is when that number just crashed). By comparison, Sky News got 3 "episodes" in the list after the breaking news, and 1 before. BBC got 2 in the list, both after when the story broke. GB News - James2001 - 28-10-2021 But I'm sure GB News will be rushing to remind us that the people who watch their channel watch for longer... Absolutely true... backwards, that is. GB News viewers watch channel for 00:23 (mm s, yes), vs. 01:06 for Sky and 01:54 for BBC.
GB News - news727 - 28-10-2021 Oh dear. Hope she quickly recovers. https://mobile.twitter.com/elliecostelloTV/status/1453299111856377856 Also, Mark Steyn to host Farage's show due to latter's absence tonight. Just to clarify those figures are the average across all viewers, whether they watch the channels or not. They don't indicate how long viewers of the channels watched each channel. GB News - TMD_24 - 28-10-2021 Mark Styen is covering for Farage tonight all the way from Vermont in the US. Only on GB News!

And they couldn't set up a studio for Andrew Neil in the South of France? Only on GB News! The funny thing is that Steyn's green-screen camera setup and background looks better than what Farage normally has sat in the studio. GB News - JK1985 - 28-10-2021 I thought I would pop on GB News just now to see Mark Dolan present, and yet again sound problems. The newsreader could not be heard, and they handed back to Mark, who made no mention of the blunder at all. Why did I bother returning - I have switched off again - four months in, and they still have the sound quality of a Soviet Union TV station of the 1960s. I’m not sure what your vendetta is against the channel but in fairness to them, I’ve been watching a fair amount recently and there hasn’t been one sound problem. They’re much rarer these days than at launch. Yes, the L3s need improving, yes there are still occasional issues but they’re much more scarce than at launch. It’s the nature of such channels that you’ll never get rid of them completely.JK1985 post_id=51022 time= user_id=1347 Wrote:I thought I would pop on GB News just now to see Mark Dolan present, and yet again sound problems. My main pres criticism would be the sets though, at one point it looked like they were slowly tweaking things but that all suddenly seemed to stop once they did the breakfast bar area. The old Andrew Neil set still looks incredibly basically and apart from the screens the Farage area is still lacking any actual set design. That desk needs to be wider and lose the edge at the front. They also haven’t bothered to do anything with the sofa area apart from the big lightning improvement. |
