Wimbledon 2021 - Andrew - 23-06-2021 After a year off, coverage of Wimbledon begins on Monday at 10:30am on BBC Two I may be wrong, but I don’t think I’ve seen a trailer for it yet Sue Barker hosts as usual, it’ll be interesting to see how they accommodate Covid social distancing measures. Usually they’d often be hosting outside in a huddle surrounded by crowds. The commentary boxes on Centre Court are hardly Covid secure either, they look tiny and if they installed plastic screens, I’m not sure the commentators furthest away from the door would be able to get in and out. I wonder if this year we are due a new studio set or titles as these days they keep both for a few years rather than changing each time, I can’t remember how old each were in 2019. Wimbledon 2021 - Brekkie - 23-06-2021 I've seen a trailer as part of their other tennis coverage. The Queens set up seemed quite cosy, certainly not as spacious as we've become used too and seemingly indoors too whilst most on location coverage has been outdoors lately. Agree though was wondering is Sue would be able to switch from Centre to her studio as easily as usual this time and whether the outdoor space they've previously used for Today at Wimbledon (or was it Wimbledon 2Day?) might be used instead. Presumably they'll be less international presentation on site than usual so that might open up options. Wimbledon 2021 - william - 23-06-2021 They've been broadcasting the world feed of the qualifying from Roehampton online this week (which is also on YouTube) - John Inverdale is hosting. I saw a photo of the commentators earlier: could be wrong, but looked to me like they were watching off TV from a Centre or No. 1 Court commentary box in SW19. [EDIT: well not all of them, because Andrew Castle was commentating and on site… ] Full coverage of a single court only, but a decent effort at presentation. Wimbledon 2021 - RhysJR - 23-06-2021 Posted in The Sport Thread last week, here's the BBC press release https://www.bbc.co.uk/mediacentre/2021/wimbledon Wimbledon 2021 - thebigdog2020 - 23-06-2021 Andrew post_id=23511 time= user_id=791 Wrote:I may be wrong, but I don’t think I’ve seen a trailer for it yet I have seen a number of trailers during Euro 2020 coverage and also on BBC One the last week but maybe taking this off topic but BBC Two are showing England v Sri Lanka 2nd T20 Live tomorrow and only seen 1 trailer for it on England highlights last night on BBC One and Gary Lineker also mentioned it tonight, hardly any promotion at all compared to the Test Highlights. Wimbledon 2021 - Johnnie - 23-06-2021 The trailer has been played out many times on the BBC News Channel.. I've just uploaded it to YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxHjhvgcPT8 Wimbledon 2021 - Andrew - 23-06-2021 Well let’s just say it isn’t on as high a rotation on BBC One as the Peter Crouch Podcast advert! Wimbledon 2021 - Brekkie - 27-06-2021 This year Centre Court starts at the later time of 1.30pm. Such a shame the news can't be curtailed to a 30 minute slot like it is for the football to give BBC1 a 1.30pm start as well. Knowing the BBC they'll leave an outdoor court match on BBC2 to join Court 1 at 1pm, then interrupt that for 20 minutes waiting for BBC1 to join. P.S. Also think it might have been worth keeping Newsnight at 10.45pm a bit longer and trialling Today at Wimbledon at 10pm, with main coverage ending at 9pm. It really is about time they moved the news to 12:00 during Wimbeldon fortnight to avoid the inevitable channel hopping. They also won't shift the extended Politics Live on Wednesday so you have coverage starting on BBC One, moving to BBC Two and then returning to BBC One. Wimbledon 2021 - BcastCornwall - 27-06-2021 Interesting on Tuesday, I wonder whether there's the capability on the iPlayer for TWO simultaneous live UHD feeds, one for Wimbledon CC and the other for ENG-GER. If not I suspect Wimbledon will get the chop. Has anyone evidence of two such UHD feeds previously? Also, the Wimbledon final of 2018 clashed with the World Cup final if Wimbledon did then have UHD access on the iPlayer (I got a feeling it didn't). Wimbledon gets continuous coverage on at least one channel throughout - that is a serious commitment given there are only two channels available for most of the day.Brekkie post_id=24139 time= user_id=976 Wrote:This year Centre Court starts at the later time of 1.30pm.
